2012 D-III Hockey Predictions

Re: 2012 D-III Hockey Predictions

Anyone know why the MASCAC team Plymouth gets home ice over the ECAC NE team Wenthworth. Wenthworth beat
Plymouth twice in the regular season.

Wentworth never put in a bid to host an NCAA game....there was no choice but to let Plymouth host...

General question, what if neither team puts in a bid? What does the NCAA do then?

Isn't it possible that neither team put in a bid because they both did NOT have access to an arena? Does the NCAA then have to make arrangements that could include busing both teams somewhere?

Re: 2012 D-III Hockey Predictions

higher seed

What happens if neither team puts in a bid because neither team has access to the arena that they played the majority of their home games at - If we had a game scheduled between a ECAC NE and a MASCAC team that could be a possibility if the chips fell in the wrong place, because only a few of the teams in those leagues own or control their home ice.

Re: 2012 D-III Hockey Predictions

2012 Final Four will be the same field as the 2010 Final Four. NCAA aligned the brackets to possibly make this happen. $$$$
• St Norbert- SNC got screwed with a play-in game
• Oswego
• Plattsburgh
• Norwich – Probably has the easiest Quarter Final game of the four. Hoping for the same result as 2010 National Championship:)

Hey, the West wanted a 7-4 split!!

Re: 2012 D-III Hockey Predictions

I'll go the other way and say all three get in and it starts with Elmira beating Norwich in the NSB Tourney championship.
Prez, Prez, Prez... What are you thinking? You can't say such things about your employer. Norwich all the way to final four once again.

higher seed

how is Pymouth the higher seed over Wenthworth (especially considering the 2 non league losses during the season to Wenthworth).

I can see that maybe Wenthworth couldnt get the arena because they play at Northeastern's rink whereas Plymouth has their own new oncampus rink

Read back into the entire thread. This didn't mean Plymouth was the higher seed. This was joecct's answer to the question, "Where would the game be if neither put in a bid to host?"
