Re: 2011-2012 Season Schedules

LSSU Non conference. A post from Laker Dude in the LSSU season thread. This is all from coach Jim Roque:
-@ Vermont tournament - after Christmas
-Home to Bemidji State - November 4-5. This series is possible thanks to MSU agreeing to switch the series in the Sault to October 14-15 instead of the first weekend in November.
-@ Canisius but he did not say when. - This is in return for Canisuis playing in the Sault a two years ago.
-They will play either at Union the first weekend of the year, or at St. Lawrence in early January probably the weekend after the Vermont Tournament.

Exhibition:
-USA under 18 team on February 3.
-They will have a Canadian team October 1 or October 8 depending on non conference.

Season:
4 games against
Northern
Ohio State
Michigan State (home October 14-15)
Miami

Home against:
Western
Notre Dame
Bowling Green

Away against:
Michigan
Ferris State
Alaska (February 10-11)

He did mention that they will play MTU in non conference during the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons.

So, no Tech at SCSU OR MN? Well, that frees up some roadtrip money. :)

Who does Tech have for Carnival? If I was told, I have forgotten about it.

The schedule certainly looks strange without the RPI Tourney for the first time since the 50-51 season. Also the frosh are going to be baptized by fire with the October OOC schedule followed by the NC trip.

Definitely. I'm not even sure our 07-08 schedule was this aggressive!

Re: 2011-2012 Season Schedules

Regarding RPI's 2011-12 schedule ... The front loaded out of conference schedule looks bizarre. Almost like RPI switches leagues after the start of the season. Also, there's no game listed vs. BU. Might it be added later? If no game, is this the aftermath of Parker's dissatisfaction with the game in Troy? Or BU losing too many to RPI? Or something else? Had BU won this year's game I'm guessing that BU would still be playing. Has anyone worked that out? How important was that game for PWR comparisons?

I believe someone posted that BU would've been 11th if they had won the game at RPI. Doesn't really matter. RPI dominated every aspect of that game. There were plenty of games BU should've won this year that they didn't. The RPI game was not one of them.

Appert mentioned during a WaP podcast earlier in the season that BU was not going to be on the schedule next season due to scheduling conflicts. He said theres plans in the works to have BU back on the schedule for 2012-13.

Assuming that the unscheduled Bentley and OOC Union games are real (and they do appear that way on the season ticket application http://www.rpiathletics.com/documents/2011/1/28/1112MHKYOrderForm.pdf), there is no room for a game vs. BU. I have always liked seeing a variety of OOC games, so as long as the quality of the oppoents stays high, this doesn't bother me. Also with the Beanpot and the lengthy HEA season, BU doesn't have much room on their schedule. It wouldn't surprise me to see them back on the schedule in the fairly near future.

Re: 2011-2012 Season Schedules

Anyone know who will be at the Dodge WhatTheHellWeKeepSchedulingNothingButCupcakesButTheGophersStillLoseAnyways Classic this year?

BU also has the game vs Cornell at MSG again next season.
