For those of you who have been voting previously, here is the thread to post your "ballot" of top-10 teams. If you have never posted before, but would like to, here is where you post your top-10. If you would like your ballot to be counted, make sure to have your top-10 posted in this thread by Monday (Nov 7) by 1pm Eastern.

Here is my top 10...

1. Minnesota - While not perfect, Minnesota has been the best team to this point in the season. The Gophers are going to have to continue to improve their game if they wish to stay on top, but for now, they are #1.
2. Boston College - While the Eagles dropped a game @ UMass this weekend, they are still playing very well for a team that usually saves its best for March and April.
3. Notre Dame - The Irish traveled to Marquette and came away with two draws...not too bad.
4. Merrimack - The only unbeaten team left in college hockey, Merrimack just continues to find a way to win games as shown by their comeback win on Saturday against Northeastern.
5. Colorado College - A split @ Nebraska Omaha is nothing to be ashamed of, but the way they lost Friday was disappointing. Their Saturday performance though showed that CC is very good this year.
6. Western Michigan - The Broncos split @ Yost, something that is not very easily done.
7. Michigan - Despite a Friday loss, the Wolverines came out strong on Saturday to salvage a split on the weekend.
8. Minnesota Duluth - The Bulldogs went down to Denver and played well. In return they received three points.
9. Union - The Dutchmen allowed only one goal on the weekend en route to two ECAC wins.
10. Ferris State - Ferris got back to their winning ways with a sweep on the road at Bowling Green.

Honorable Mention:
Nebraska Omaha
Northern Michigan
Michigan Tech
New Hampshire
Dartmouth
Air Force

As always, comments are appreciated and please post your top-10s.

Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Week 5 Rankings

tough week this week what with so many good teams losing at least one.

1. Minnesota-- very fast, competitive and great goaltending
2.Merrimack-- Undefeated is undefeated
3. BC.- Took another game off and did not get away with it.
4.Michigan-- I don't think they were ready for how good wmu was on friday, played better saturday.
5.WMU-- very good team, faster and better defense than people think.
6.CC- while very good, and playing a good team in UNO, still to stay real high you have to win.
7. Union-- haven't seen them but have taken care of business
8. UMD- playing very well, and won on saturday in Denver which is very tough.
9. NMU- got the shootout win
10. Notre Dame - too many ties but a good team.

honorable mention-- UNO,Lake Superior.

Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Week 5 Rankings

My first ballot:

1 - Minnesota : I hate to do this. Better to be #1 in March and especially April. But, pretty much perfect except for one really bad period versus Vermont.

2 - Boston College : This may yet be a reputation vote. But I can't help thinking that if BC played Merrimack a double home and home, BC would go at least 2-1-1.

3 - Merrimack : Unbeaten is unbeaten, in spite of the above.

4 - Western Michigan : They have to be ahead of Michigan if they split at Yost.

5 - Michigan

6 - Colorado College : Although we will see more after a few more weeks.

7 - Minn-Duluth : Improving quickly since being swept at Amsoil by Minny.

8 - Union : Probably right now strongest among ECAC teams.

9 - Lake Superior State : Would feel better about this one if they had swept Bemidji State.

10 - Notre Dame : Although it is hard to get excited about anyone else right now.

Overall, I think the top 5 here right now stand above the rest. Honorable Mention? Not really. Numbers 6 - 10 are already not much more than that. Hope the next month brings some clarity...

FS 23,

Do the votes from this thread go toward the power rankings on collegehockeyweekly.com ?

Yes, with the exception of if someones vote is ridiculous to the point where I won't count it. That isn't a problem this week.

There are about 15 minutes left for anyone who wants to post their top 10 and have it counted.

My top 10 teams matches the new USCHO poll. Just a slight difference in where they are ranked within.
