Not bad. Went 3 for 4 and almost 4/4 since at the last minute I changed my mind from Patterson to Cannatta.

Not bad at all :)

These would have been posted yesterday, but we had to vote for the runner up for Best Defensemen (which I protested, and thought should say "Defenseman" but oh well...) as Schultz was unanimously selected.

Surprised Union's Grosenick didn't get any love. 1.71 GAA, .932 save % and 2 shutouts in 13 games.

There are a lot of very good goalies this year, especially out east. Patterson gets a lot of attention because he plays for one of the sports most recognizable teams, and has had a tremendous year. If Grosenick can continue the solid play and Union can make a climb to the top of the ECAC, he will likely garner more attention by season's end. Right now he's getting a bit over-shadowed by Iles, Karpowich, and Cannata.

What? No midseason national champion? Clearly the Minnesota Gophers should be awarded this, perhaps after they win their holiday cupcake tourney?

:p:D:D

FWIW, there was debate about having a Midseason Best Team. About three of us strongly opposed having such an award, and ultimately it was decided against having one. That being said, I don't think Minnesota would have won, as it probably would have been between Duluth and Ohio State.

C'mon, the Gophers won the Virg Foss award for excellence through Thanksgiving, not the midseason national champs!

It hurts my soul that you had to fight for correct usage. And it's even more painful that the incorrect usage won out.

As much as it pains me to say it, got to wonder why Andy Iles didn't get named top dog in goal. What...4-5 shutouts in a row in a tough ECAC this season? Alex Evin of 'Gate would be a big vote getter (leading the nation in GAA) but hasn't played enough minutes :(

I think Patterson won out because he has impressive stats all around, and has played in every single game for Minnesota. Iles received one vote for the award, and if he continues his impressive play in the second half of the season, he could very well wind up with the award at the end of the year.

Also, for those looking for the awards, the home page was changed today, so here is the direct link...

For those trying to find the All-Americans for Midseason, here is the direct link for there...(both of which are found in the Archives section, and Iles is a 2nd Team All-America East selection)
