2011-2012 All-Conference Teams

I thought I would start a thread to talk about the players that are on the All-Conference teams for the different conferences...as well as those that should have been on the teams.

Also, College Hockey Weekly will be putting together their All-Conference teams for Atlantic Hockey, ECAC, and the CCHA here shortly, and I believe will do Hockey East and WCHA teams sometime after this weekend.

Anyway, who should make your conference's team?

Re: 2011-2012 All-Conference Teams

The only things I would do differently would be swap Wagner and Killorn, and put Karpowich in the second team instead of Iles. He's the main reason Clarkson is not on the road this weekend in my opinion.

Agreed about Karpowich. I had him in the #2 slot. I had Killorn ahead of Wagner, mostly because I have actually seen Killorn play in person, and was pretty impressed by him (he scored 2 goals and 2 assists in the series against North Dakota).

Re: 2011-2012 All-Conference Teams

you sure they didn't mean austin czarnik and reilly smith ;)

:p

Yes. The voter was on the conference call, and we clarified it with the voter that they meant Reilly Smith. The voter had put Austin Smith as both the CCHA and ECAC Player of the Year on their ballot. Now, I know Austin Smith is good...but he isn't that good. :D:D

Re: 2011-2012 All-Conference Teams

Here's my All WCHA team. With a very strong Denver bias.
Forwards-Jack Connolly and Drew Shore should be locks. The 3rd forward has many candidates, but letting my bias show I'll take Jason Zucker. Bjugs, Schwartzes, Oleksuk, Brown are all possibilities
Defense--Justin Schultz is a lock and most will pick gopher Schmidt, but I'll take Joey LaLeggia. Bias showing here too.
Goalie---Hard not to pick Kent Patterson. I'm giving my second team nod to Juho, call him Jussi, Olkinuora. Is he the biggest surprise of the season? Resounding YES!

You know you're the coach of a downtrodden program when your team finished eighth in the conference and you're named Coach of the Year.
