2011-12 Preseason All Americans/ All Region

Thought I'd throw out my take on who will have a big year this year. I just picked the West region, but I hope some will post an all american list.

First Team West Region

G Conner Toomey Sr. MSOE
D Jason Cohen Jr. UW-STOUT
D Erick Galt Sr. MN-Concordia
F Johan Ryd Sr. SNC
F Dakota Dubetz Jr. Marian
F Brian Arrigoni Sr. Hamline

Second Team West Region

D Tommy Fitzpatrick Jr. Marian

# 2 in NCHA from last season for points isn't on the list? Jordan Singer - UWEC, (ahead of Ryd) should at least be considered for second team?

Yeah, I'd put him over Graham, and swap out Fitzpatrick and put Chris Stansik in his place.

Haven't seen Toomey play. He established himself last season to that degree, eh?

I would think Cody Keefer will be in the mix too if he continues to play like he has...

Toomey had an excellent year last year. He was MCHA Player of the Year, and had a GAA somewhere around 1.80. He was great........until he faced Marian in the MCHA semis. They shelled him pretty good, although he didn't have much help in front of him that night. It will be interesting to see how he does this year.

Toomey is a good goaltender - definitely benefits from a defense first coaching philosophy. With everyone returning to MSOE from last year, I would expect him to be near the top of the league again this year.
