Once again, we present the Interlock LPS. With tons of people getting dragged under by Mo'ville in the national contest, here's your second chance.
The interlock season starts on Friday 11/20.
Here's your chance to join our illustrious list of winners (all with perfect seasons, except joecct)
2005-2006 jabber811
2006-2007 gounhwildcats
2007-2008 GerryO
2008-2009 joecct
Our game is a little different because the interlock schedule would make it easy to ride a weak team by picking against them for 9 straight weeks of the regular season, so we regulate both picks to win and picks to lose.
Here are the rules:
Each week of league play (and continuing into the playoffs) you pick one game. If you are correct you stay in the game, if wrong you are eliminated. The winner is the last person standing.
Now the additional details;
The only games in play are ECAC East/NESCAC league games played on the weekends of league play - non league games between interlock members do not count, and travel partner games played on off weekends or during the
week do not count.
You are allowed to pick a team only once to win, and only twice to lose.
================================================
A sample pick from Week 3 might look something like this:
St. Mike's over Bowdoin on Sat
Used to win:
Conn College, Skidmore, St. Mike's
Used to lose
Once: Bowdoin
Twice: Norwich
===============================================
The game continues until the last weekend of the league playoffs or until everyone has been eliminated.
All picks are due by the drop of the first puck of each league play weekend.
I'll track picks and point out which choices are the most popular. It's not an easy game, and lots of people get burned in the first week by trying to slip in a pick to win for a middling team against a supposedly weak team only to find the middling team has slipped and the weak team isn't as weak as their rep. Been there, done that myself.
