Rep who voted to fund Thanos is shocked and appalled by what Thanos is doing.

Glusenkamp-Perez is the epitome of why “vote blue no matter who” doesn’t work. She’s a Republican who doesn’t want to admit it because she’s not totally against abortion. But because she’s “Team Blue” the Dem leadership spends so much time and money trying to appease people like her, and even then she still stabs them in the back, that the Dems ignore things that could actually gain them votes.

Yeah sure, she’s keeping a true MAGAt out of her seat but at the cost of being less competitive in other seats.

I do not think that is an issue with Vote Blue No Matter Who per se.

IMO the problem is party leadership in general has been so weakened. The party needs the Members more now than the Members need the party. In olden tymes if you crossed the leadership your career died. Without them, you had no mechanism for exposure -- everything was vetted through party control of their media outlets. The agenda not just of what was debated in the chamber but also of what appeared in print or on the tube essentially had leadership right of censorship.

On one hand, there's a lot to be said for being free of that now. It was surely antidemocratic. Members being able to go directly to their constituents cutting out the smoke-filled room fixers is by and large a good thing. But it also means the leaders, the national party, the national campaign staff have FAR less power these days. Members are now all little movie stars just after the studio control system collapsed. We need to develop other institutional controls whereby if you are calling yourself a Democrat you have to at least have some accountability. You don't have to march in lock step, but when you violate core platform it should be flagged and brought to your constituents' attention, because they may not be wild about that.

It could be parties themselves are dying and someday every Member will be a free-standing reality TV star. That would be new. I can't see it being good for any sort of coherent policy, and I can't see it helping voters control their destiny via policy, but politics does not develop for the benefit of voters any more than an economy does for the benefit of the people within it. Each has its own logic and momentum which is utterly unhuman.

This Lawn Guyland DINO voted for them to kill minorities, but white? And male? And a concealed pistol owner? That was a bridge too far, so it's safe to object and speak out now.

Good to see Wisconsin is well represented in Congress.

"You think that's bad, check out this moronic straw-man I created in my head!"

For all the argument of better training and what not, my minimum would be accounting.

Accounting for every bullet, smoke grenade, pepper spray canister.

There was footage of a fully loaded magazine left abandoned in a school playground after ICE ran away from the neighborhood. There was footage of boxes of gas canisters that once littered the street after Alex Pretti's murder.

Every military branch, every police department, everyone except these ICE/DHS fucksticks need to account for every item at all times. Who it was assigned to. Why it was discharged. Empty canister (for proof if possible) for replacement. That missing 5.56 magazine would have caused a week of nightmares for the entire platoon had that been a soldier that lost it. Also, for as well funded as they are, why the Temu / Amazon Basics mismatched outfits?

These chodes are out here throwing gas canisters like they're in a Call of Duty multi-player lobby.

God, I feel like Edgar Mitchel. I want to drag every MAGA and every Republican politician by the scruff of their neck into these heat of these conflicts and say "Look at that, you son of a bitch."
