100th Grey Cup Game

Re: 100th Grey Cup Game

Please please please - no repeat of 1971

Don Chevrier and Danny Gallivan, two of the greatest announcers ever to grace a microphone. There were a few plays in sports that every kid in Canada knew about when I was growing up. The Henderson goal in 72, the Gabriel catch in 76, and the McQuay fumble in 71. Great stuff.

Re: 100th Grey Cup Game

How is comparing baseball to hockey the same as comparing football to slightly different football?

Well first of all they aren't slightly different, they are totally different. But fair enough, I will grant you that if an NFL team were to play a CFL team that the NFL team would win, probably by 40. You could play all Canadian rules and the result would be the same. But the big question that needs to be asked is, so what? Who cares? Do you watch a North Dakota hockey game and think to yourself "Man if these guys played the Blue Jackets they'd get killed?". I'm guessing no. So why not watch this game the same way?

Re: 100th Grey Cup Game

I was just making a snarky observation about the level of suckitude in Western NY, while the Argos look like they will win the Grey Cup. That's the only way a title will ever get near that region in football. :D

Well the Bills are playing in Toronto fairly shortly. If the Argos hang on and win this, maybe they can sneak into the trophy case, scratch out Toronto Argonauts and write in Buffalo Bills. Instant champions :)

I just play Tecmo Super Bowl. That usually helps. :D

Re: 100th Grey Cup Game

Watched the game on the bus ride back from Schenectady and enjoyed every minute of watching the Argos demolish the Stamps! Well, I didn't enjoy the half-time show, except for Gordon Lightfoot.

I spent a lot of the time explaining the game to those on the bus that had never seen a CFL game before, while telling them that they don't know what they've missed! :D

Gordo was showing his age. And the sound on Canadian Railroad Trilogy was awful.
