There aren't that many goalies that have won two NCAA titles: Sautter, UMD; Horak, UM; Vetter, UW; Räty, UM; Leveille, UM; Tiley, Clarkson. Only Vetter won three. A lot of great goalies didn't win any despite playing for excellent teams.

Another thing to consider is that it can be a totally different challenge for a goalie when seeing 20 shots per game rather than seeing 50. If she sees only two shots in a period but one hits the net, that can be more damaging than when one of 16 shots in a frame connects.
Obviously you didn’t watch Selander the last 3 years!!!!

Nevermind winning a game, are we even going to score a goal this season?

Well, we scored a goal last weekend. Now the question becomes if we can win a game

                Back to not scoring today.
Take the shortest distance to the puck and arrive in ill humor

9 shots on net, against a mediocre team

I think Penn State is going to end up being less mediocre than you think this season. RPI is a less than mediocre team without question. Lovisa didn't score goals for them so not having her this year isn't actually their biggest problem. You can't win games if you can't score 3 goals per game on average throughout the season. Right now they're scoring only 0.20 goals per game while their opponents are scoring 2.80 goals per game. The math doesn't lie. Minnesota State and Merrimack aren't exactly powerhouse teams and RPI has been heavily outshot by these teams. They haven't really been close to their opponents so far. This is shaping up to be a VERY long season for them. It's too bad really. When do they play Union? They MIGHT have a chance then.

I liked the way RPI moved the puck, but has a significant disadvantage in the size dept which will be there all year.

Even though RPI had only nine shots, they were close to scoring. Lovisa could keep them in games like this.

Penn State is having trouble scoring but the d is solid.

They need to move the puck towards the net twice as much, and moving it INTO the net a couple of times a game wouldn't hurt either.
