I will confess that the scalping scene sat badly with me. I wasn't offended; I definitely recognized that it was comedy and that they were mocking the trope, but that one sat a little funny.

The Liam Neeson one cracked me up, because I'm a big Harry Potter nerd, so it was entertaining to see the kid who played the awful cousin in the movies in something else.

I almost wished they finished with Buster's story, and started with the last story presented, similar humor, just a little different tone, and I think it would have fit better with the title of the movie.....
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

It did surprise me that Buster Scruggs was first. I reckoned going in that it would either be last or bookends.

          Bookends would have been nice.

A friend and I were talking about Buster Scruggs, and Liam's story in particular, and a co-worker overheard and asked us what the movie was about. My friend responded, "I think the best way that I can describe it is this: Sooner or later we all get replaced by a chicken."

I don't think our co-worker bothered to watch the movie after that.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

I saw the trailer for the live action Sonic the Hedgehog movie and... I'm conflicted. It has Jim Carrey chewing scenery like it's the late '90's again, it seems fun, but yet there is the walking abortion that is the CGI Sonic to ruin the whole goddamed thing.

Is it too late in production to fix Sonic?

Well, Disney keeps going back and forth as to whether or not Will Smith will be blue in the new live action Aladdin remake, so I think they could create some skins. If the teasers are only now just being released for the Sonic movie, they should be able to clean up that character's image.

Then again, the WB had a hard time with Superman's mustache.

It sounds like what you want to "fix" is the entire premise and selling point.

Disney knows what it's doing. It's making a movie for the morons. Let the morons have their fun; run it 24 hours for free on Election Day.

I thought Paramount was a CBS/Viacom property, and not Disney?

Sorry, I conflated our media overlords.

At this point I just assume Disney or Google controls everything that goes into my eyeballs.
