Those are the NCAA’s Division I Basketball Performance Fund and the Division I Equal Conference Fund, which last year distributed a combined $216.7 million to the 32 Division I basketball-playing conferences and independent schools based on qualification and performance at the NCAA tournament.
I doubt the NCAA Division I Hockey Performance Fund has that much to disperse.

Only reason Maines doing it is because its America East mandated.

Maine Hockey: I want to believe
43-21-4 (.662) in games I attended over 4 years as a student
104-47-14 (.669) in that time 3x FROZEN FOUR
11-20-2 in games I've attended since. (2-2-1 under Red)

I doubt Hockey East mandates it because Maine, UNH and UVM can't afford it. I doubt UMA and UML can either. UConn is swimming in money and the private schools can spend like a drunken sailor. Just another divide between the publics and privates.

If you think Connecticut is swimming in money then you definitely haven’t been caught up with all the news out of UConn this week.
There’s a reason they’re moving back to the Big East.
Its not clear to me what these additional funds are that are above tuition, room and board which a scholarship covers anyway. This cost of attendance which is above that. Ralph says it $2200 per athlete at umo.
