Yes you are and it's the first thought I had when I saw it happen. ffs Scooby you're a grown man act like it once in a while instead of sounding like an hysterical teenage girl that just learned Jutin Bieber has a new girlfriend.

Have you even been outside the country? Further than North America? The racism in America pales in comparison to the **** I've seen and we've had far less time to adjust to different people and cultures than just about every one of them.

You are absolutely correct that America should be better than it is and hopefully we will get there, but the sky really isn't falling.

Given the current global warming situation you're 100% correct. The sky isn't falling. The planet is burning. See California and Australia.

That show was stupid in a lot of ways, but that was a really good speech. The thing is, it continued to spread the myth, however. Do you remember the final line? "So, no, America isn't the greatest country in the world. We sure used to be, though."

No, we weren't. We were, for quite a long time, the country with the best economy and the best chance for somebody to start with nothing and prosper. But we were never the most free, the most equal, or even the most democratic. Even all the stuff we were taught about being "first" in, we weren't.

First country to successfully revolt against a military super power? The Netherlands. And Spain was on the same continent.

First country to put common law above the king? England.

First country to enshrine universal personal rights in its constitution? Poland-Lithuania. They even called it the "Bill of Rights".

First country to abolish slavery? United Kingdom.

First country to enact universal male suffrage? France.

First country to extend suffrage to women? New Zealand.

We were, however, the first country to count certain people as only fractionally human.

We've done many good things democratically during three great spurts: during the founding, during the Jacksonian period, and during the New Deal-to-Great Society interval. Other than during those periods we've coasted, given tremendous power to the rich, and f-cked over anybody who wasn't the right ethnicity, religion, of gender. And the force that has been behind that stubborn recalcitrance to reform has almost always been the right.

Kill the right; save the world.

          Speaking of other countries.

Are we better than them? I seem to remember similar things proposed here more often than not. Hell, Epstein got a sweetheart deal before the Clinton's wacked him.

See, what any good basketball coach will tell you is that the person with the ball needs to keep one foot always in contact with the floor while moving the other in any direction you freely choose. This is called a pivot, and it can be done to great effect when executed by a well-practiced player.

I have no interest in improving that skillset. I'm too old at this point to care.

“ Two former Nazi concentration camps are increasingly seeing visitors who disrupt memorial tours by voicing far-right sentiments and nostalgia for the camps' previous genocidal purposes.

“We even see anti-Semitic slogans or statements such as ‘if the camps were still in operation, we would have no problem with foreigners,'" said the head of the memorial foundation for Buchenwald and Mittelbau-Dora concentration camps. “There are increasing entries in our visitor books that describe National Socialism and the concentration camps as useful and good for Germany,”
