I was able to watch some of the cell phone footage from people near the bridge on twitter. I might go back and find to to post it here later. I will say after watching it it does not look like the driver had any intention but to do what he did. In one of them it looks like he is flicking people off as they are trying to slow him down.
To be fair it is hard to see and they are obviously screaming and yelling and throwing stuff at him (like their bikes!) but he definitely is not driving with both hands and he is not in any way waving for the crowd to get out of the way.
I am not saying that in any way proves he was being malicious, I am just saying it was scary to watch and it makes me doubt the accidental story FOR NOW.
