I dont have any power...I am just a middle class shlub in the burbs. I dont own a business and I have no real influence. I do what is within my power to do. I vote for liberal and progressive candidates almost exclusively, I give money to foundations that support civil rights, fair practices, equality in business and support those local communities. I advocate more than most. I teach at a school that is majority immigrants and low income students and I give way more than my share to help fund scholarships for the student body.

If that is considered paying lip service fine. I will argue otherwise but there is no way to really measure the degree to which someone does or does not truly fight. As opportunities come around to help I take advantage of them.

That is an awful analogy. Tornadoes dont choose to act as destructive forces. People on a bridge with a brick can make a choice to do or do not. Tornadoes arent sentient.

Violent acts arent forces of nature. If someone drops a brick off the bridge and it kills someone they are still guilty of murder even if they are rioting for legit reasons.

Then it's time to call the national guard because you're describing a natural disaster.

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

Oakdale PD just sent out an email with the people who were arrested.

On May 27, 2020, at approximately 3:30 pm, Officers responded to the area of the 7500 block of 17th Street N. to keep the peace during active protests. To maintain the safety of both the citizens and protesters portions of city streets in the area were barricaded for access to immediate local and necessary motor vehicle traffic only. A Code Red alert regarding the anticipated protests and traffic plan was sent out to the effected neighborhood.

Only one of them was from Oakdale, one from Woodbury, and one from St. Paul. The others were from Ham Lake, Hancock, and Bemidji.

This isn't a protest, it's people driving in from out of town and wrecking sh--t.

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

If looting really did happen at the Sun-Ray mall, and people are right that West St. Paul's PD are reacting correctly to threats that the looting will move south of the Mississippi tonight along S Robert St, then both dx and I are physically much closer to this than the rest of the people here. In fact, I would be within 10 blocks of tonight's events if that proves to be true. Why the hell did I move here from Farmington?

Lots and lots of fascinating discussions on the Unicorn Riot feed just going person to person. It's pretty impressive to cut out media BS and just talk to people.

Many different points of view. Continuing as long as they want with no interruptions, no ads, no directors. And the people have so much passion.

Still waiting on the press conference at the FBI field office in Brooklyn Center. Supposed to be at 3:00pm CDT, they were then told 4:00pm, then told another 10-15 minutes, still nothing.
