They aren’t even testing a lot of people that think they have it. Real number could be at _least_ 10 times that.

Exactly. And that is where Trump has most failed us.

If they had tested from the very beginning, it wouldn't have been 100% effective, but we could have determined cluster areas, how and why it spread, and then quarantined smaller areas of hot spots to limit further spread. Granted, it would have continued to spread, and pop up in new areas, but perhaps the rate of spread would have been slower

Now that cat's out of the bag, and here we are shutting down the entire country to try to get ahead of it.

Significantly. Look at the info on the link I posted above. Among large, western countries, most are in the 75-150 cases per million. We're at 19. Our numbers are almost certainly under-reported by a large margin.

It's obviously everywhere. It's a globally interconnected world.

The thing to do is to be smart, limit contact, and slow the spread.

Think of the virus as stupidity. Take protective steps and don't expose yourself to people who test positive. Assume it is ubiquitous but also that it is possible to take actions to protect yourself.

Exactly. It's like testing for a fire in a high-rise by feeling the doors. Sure, there's a chance that someone in the apartment is just doing hot yoga at 90 degrees, but there's a better chance it's on fire. Even if we didn't have a test, we could have looked at general flu-like hospitalizations and any area that's spiked should have been quarantined. Even if it's just the flu, the worst thing that happens is the strain caused by actual influenza isn't compounded by a massive influx of cases.

States would probably be wise to start issuing more stringent shelter-in-place rules and activating the national guard to make deliveries of food and medicine.

Where are the pandemic policies, procedures, and protocols? This has happened before, it will happen again. Everything that has been done up until now is a ****ING clown show.

Trump's administration is busy re-writing them.

The WHO is out to get him like the media. I’m sure he’ll give a presser to yell about that tomorrow.
