How long were Fillier and Connors committed to Princeton? I'm wondering if they were recruited by Kampersal when he was there, young as they would've been.

Yes, they were definitely recruited by him.

Next up in the Penn State "Meet The Freshmen" video series is Olivia Wallin from Oakville, Ontario:

In her final PWHL season with Etobicoke, she scored 24 goals and 14 assists in 38 games, so she looks like the kind of scoring forward that Penn State needs.

It hurts Mercyhurst for sure, as Wallin used to play for Stoney Creek and Mercyhurst's roster has had many Stoney Creek players over the years. It was almost automatic to go play for Mercyhurst. Vasko played at Stoney Creek. But, there is a Wallin on Princeton and if it is her sister, then Kampresal was familiar with the family.

Any chance to steal away some offense from Mercyhurst is a win

The Wallin playing for Princeton is from Edina, MN, so these two aren't sisters.

Has anyone else seen this? TSN Hockey's "All-Time Team Canada" women's team: https://***********/TSNHockey/status...575168/photo/1

                Any glaring omissions?

Next installment of "Meet The Freshmen", this time it's incoming goalie Josie Bothun (Forest Lake, MN):

This was an interesting watch for sure. Confidence in spades.

The Ice Garden had a CHA All Star team and Penn State had three on it and Heising was not one of them.

I would've loved to see them take a pass on Chantal Burke in net and try to justify it. They got it right picking Rene Gangarosa on defense - I'm really anxious to see what she does as a junior and senior.

Here's a link to the list, if anyone wants to see their picks for a CHA All-Star team: https://www.theicegarden.com/2020/4/...ckey-cha-newha

When Burke caught that arrow on that video last year, it definitely demonstrated fantastic hand eye coordination. But, her movement across the crease is as fast and she is clearly very athletic.

Gangarosa joined select company in being a dual threat on both ends. Curlett is the only other player in CHA to lead her team in d scoring and blocks.

I think Syracuse had the benefit of inflated stats from a couple of games.

Stats definitely got a bump when Syracuse faced a Lindenwood team that had to play the series with no goalies, and needed to suit up whoever was willing to stand between the pipes. That was a rough stretch for Lindenwood, to say the least.

Serious question: if you're Jeff Kampersal, and you have Jenna Brenneman coming back as a grad student goalie, but you also have Chantal Burke coming back as a senior after a stellar junior season, who do you play as the starting goalie...and why? Both have absolutely demonstrated the talent to be the starter. Burke will return with only half a year of off-season time, whereas Brenneman would return after 1-1/2 years since she played. So who gets the nod, and how do you decide?

It's going to be a crowded goalie room. I'm counting five.
Kampresal will know within three days of having all five on the ice.

Burke was red hot through a stretch and then she wore down a bit so there is game time to be had. Burke went 1-1-2 against Mercyhurst including a shutout which has to be worth something. She also made all CHA. I'm thinking Brenneman and Bothun are going to battle it out for the remaining pt.

Bothun could surprise and it could be Burke and Brenneman battling it out for those second game stints.

It's a good situation to be in.

The Daily Collegian has come out with their idea of an "all-time" Penn State women's hockey team, and there are only two players on it who are not on the current team. If you've followed the program for a while, it won't be too hard to guess which dynamic duo of former players made the list:

                                https://www.collegian.psu.edu/sports...39b7c69c0.html

(EDIT: Actually, they should have called it an all-time best line, not best team, as they only name three forwards, two defenders, and one goalie)
