Lastly...talked to my niece tonight who works not at Beth Israel but another notable Boston hospital that they have been taking turns with who gets fresh stuff to wear between patients. They are bracing themselves for the influx they expect to get. Did I mention she's a respiratory therapist???? 😷

OMG= will pray for her. At this point a number of nurses are speaking out and giving interviews about this. And they played a longish clip of the comment by our Gov, President's response to our Gov saying he tried to get masks but the govt beat him out. The current occupant of the WH response was disturbing to say the least. No emotion and then a comment [paraphrasing] oh well, too bad for you. Next time bid more $. Wonder what is going to happen to some of the southern states who rely a lot on the Feds to bail them out for medical expenses. This is really going to get ugly

I have been thinking the same thing. THey were saying there are issues with troops in Afghanistan- no capability to test, they are sending tests out. ***. That is totally unacceptable.

The Caribbean is starting to get slammed. Have a friend on an island down there- no bueno. People are being idiots, medical services are minimal. Supposedly St John is a ghost town and had its first case. THe island she is on has at least 2 but they no one is talking.

One of my neighbors, doctor and a nurse. I asked both about PPE and training in correct use. Dr was upbeat, quick to answer, all kinds of PPE, yes we know how to use it. Nurse was quiet and then said the stuff we have doesn't work.

This doesn't surprise me. Docs sometimes are isolated from what is happening
