There's a number of factors at play:
      - Is someone who voted for Trump the first time really not going to vote for him the second time? It's not like none of the things he's done were totally unpredictable.
      - If someone is at this point motivated to not vote for Trump, given the overwhelming list of reasons not to, is someone going to specifically not vote for a particular Dem candidate? I've said before I'm voting for whoever it is among the remaining 5/6, so I'm clearly not someone who can read every else's mind here.
      - Is there a candidate who will push people to the polls to vote against Trump who weren't already going? Again, I'm not the best person to render a verdict here. People say Bernie here; were Bernie voters, being as active and vocal as many are, though, really going to allow a second Trump term if he weren't the nominee.
      - Is there a candidate who will have an active GOTO effort, above the usual party efforts? Here's where I think it might get interesting. I think a big part of winning is having an active ground game in the states that matter, with really interested and active volunteers knocking on doors, driving people to the polls, just in general having a noteworthy physical presence. This doesn't mean every person they get to vote for their candidate is as gung-ho as they are, far from it, but in the end a vote is a vote. This is where honestly the Bernie campaign is intriguing, because of all of the candidates they would fit this description the best.

Yes. That's the current "populist" definition propagated by Republicans. If Medicare for All is socialism then Social Security and Medicare are socialism.

The Dems need better turn out in those states. Those states liked Bernie better. Not exactly Quantum Physics here...

Oh, and thanks for the negative rep. I really appreciate it.

Bernie Bros do not believe in compromise, and they're going to eviscerate him as a sell-out when he's forced to do it, even if Dems control both houses (unlikely).
I like Bernie and agree with all of this.

So Bernie is in trouble in NC, FL, and AZ since he lost those in the primaries, in some cases by significant margins?

The bottom line is we don't know if Sanders will drive higher turnout. Saying something enough times doesn't make it true. Right now the evidence is mixed with an admittedly small sample.

I predict Buttigieg is going to be the first of the remaining group to suspend his campaign. His war chest is just about empty, and the demographics of the races coming up in the next week are not good for him. Minnesota? "Elena" has the moderates sewn up, you betcha. New England? Warren/Sanders territory. The South? Not voting for a gay dude anytime soon. California? All but a lock for Bernie.

He's pretty much painted into a corner. Only thing left for him to decide is when he will announce, "South Bend will always be home. But after rest, reflection, and time with our dogs, Chasten and I have decided our next chapter is in (*insert purple state here*)..."

I just think there is a certain type of democrat who would have a better chance of beating him than Sanders. Maybe I am underestimating the appeal of Bernie, we'll see.

Questioning if Bernie is the best candidate to beat Trump (crying not required) doesn't have to be mutually exclusive with actually pulling the lever for him. I begrudgingly voted for Hillary last time, will do the same for Bernie and even smile and argue on his behalf in the meantime. But it's not bizarre, crazy nor illogical to at this point in time question whether or not Bernie is the best chance to vote that a-hole out of the White House.

Sure. And you realize you're in the minority, right? That's why Hillary lost. Democrats wouldn't come out and vote for her. So, it's entirely logical to start nipping that **** in the bud right now.

                                That's probably a good bet.

I wonder how he'd do in MN. Seems like a good place to hunker down for an "aw shucks" Midwestern moderate political career. Run for governor to get executive experience. Give the presidency another try around 2040. Nobody's gonna give a sh-t about being gay then outside of the true toilet districts that are lost forever anyway.

Think of it, in 20 years:

                                98% of 8x-year old males
                                85% of 7x-year old males
                                55% of 6x-year old males
                                33% of 5x-year old males

                                will be dead.

Pretty much all the Phobes who aren't hardcore Thumpers will join the Happy Hunting Grounds where people who hated Catholics, Jews and, Blacks on principle went in the last 50 years. And good riddance.
