Chances are slim to none but if Maine holds onto Swayman, Doherty and Tralmaks, they’ll be force next year. Fossier leaves impossible shoes to fill but it sounds like a decent recruiting class coming in. Reasonable strides by the second line, Dawe JSS and poisson would put Maine in a good spot considering they don’t lose anything on defense. I don’t see it happening and wouldn’t be surprised to lose all three but food for thought
Did something change with Doherty? I thought he was out of eligibility after this year.

Congratulations to Gendron! He proved many of us wrong in terms of his coaching ability to advance this team through the season. While he deserves credit, much of the credit goes to the players who believed in one another. It can be debated as to how much that was influenced by Gendron. Couple that with a Hobey Baker finalist at the key position of goal tender and there you have it. Probably at least four more years of Gendron.
Re: Maine Black Bears 2020: The Hunt For Red October
Earning COTY will certainly be a feather in Red's cap, but I would bet that Ralph and Co would be skeptical, at least if they're as big of hockey guys as they seem/should be coming from hockey schools. If I were them, I'd be taking a "wait and see" approach, because if Maine completely implodes next year and is on the fringes of the playoff hunt or even misses it entirely, he should be in trouble.
