It also said all these reports of asymptomatic cases may be good news -- it means a lot more people are getting it with little consequences.

Oh it's absolutely true that education and intelligence when combined are a force multiplier. But that's not what the original topic was about.

Look, I'll make this simpler. Kill the rich and eat them.

        There.

        Simpler.

              WHO.

Although they do say that may just be for Wuhan, and worldwide it may be more like 0.7%. Still way higher than the common flu at 0.01%.

25% of all common cold cases are versions of the coronavirus. Just not this one...

Whoops sorry. Major typo in there that totally misrepresented the numbers.

That's a weighted average of 2.0% across the population.

Look, you can’t have a revolution without a plan. That’s how you end up with Napoleon.

But reports from WHO and CDC are that many infected are asymptomatic (or have mild symptoms attributable "flu season").

So how do you have a solid mortality calculation if you don't have an accurate denominator?

Should we be talking about mortality rates for verified infections?
                          Why does that matter?

Countries are in a position where that number will never matter if they can prevent it from becoming one of the number of flu viruses that are in the public domain. Why should we not peruse that total prevention???

That's really what makes me mad WRT OUR official reaction to this. We can be part of the prevention of it being just another flu that we all have to deal with, but instead of doing that, people like you question how deadly it really is- which then marginalizes the effort we could put into not getting into the public domain.

So stop that, and help prevent future economic problems due to X% population getting this every single year in the US.

Stalin had a plan. That's one way to prevent counter-revolution for 70 years but I don't recommend it.

The whole idea here is not to have a revolution. I want a gentle evolutionary social transformation which also includes feeding the rich into an abattoir and repainting the Capitol Building with their blood, and I don't think that's asking too much.
