Brandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.

I wasn't. It was only the USHL message board which for some reason mentioned Robinson.

Although it isn't a given, I think that McDonald has a good chance of making it. Babich needs a year if not 2 in Tier II first.

With the garbage team McDonald was on, his stats this year were meaningless, so I just figured he probably would play a full season in the NAHL next year without knowing much. You would know much more than me, though, so if you think he can make a USHL roster, then that makes me feel really good about McDonald. I had no idea what to think of him as a player because of his team.

He may indeed play in the NAHL for a year. It's far from a given that he will make Omaha, but he is certainly closer than Babich who wasn't a standout on his 16U team. (It was a pretty loaded team though.0 McDonald seemed to play well for Corpus Christi. We'll see about everyone.

Thomas Sinclair was just selected by Muskegon in Round 12. I hope we are trying to get him too.

Certainly don't know if we are. He is the 6th Buzzer to be chosen.

These later round picks are really amusing. Chicago took a player who’s listed as 5’1, 108. He better be fast.
And in the next round, Cedar Rapids took a player who’s 6’4 and 264.

They are every year. The 5'1" player is a 2004, so he could grow. It does look like there is no interest at this time in any of our other recruits, or more likely in Robinson's case he is not interested at least now in going to the USHL.

The years the men's recruits are listed as committed for are not necessarily accurate.
The dates on which some of the women are listed as committing on may be considerably after the actual dates.
I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they often tweet them with committals.

My guess is that either teams didn't think Watson and Robinson would come over, or they told teams they were staying in Canada. We already went over Watson, but in Robinson's case, it would make sense if he wanted to be close to home another year. Also, staying in the OJHL won't hurt his development at all because he's still young, and it's not like the level was too easy for him or anything like that. I will say that I'm surprised that it was just those two though. I definitely thought Nykanen would be selected, and while I understand Leibold, Itagaki and Fawkes going unselected, I thought 1 out of those 3 would be a flier pick at the end. Maybe Nykanen has already committed to a team in a different league? Regardless, I hope Nykanen ends up in the BCHL. Leibold and Itagaki I assume will stay in the NAHL, which is totally fine. Fawkes is a real wildcard, but hopefully he ends up in the NAHL, BCHL or AJHL (at worst).

On the zoom call, Dave Smith said that we frequently battle Clarkson head to head for recruits and that twice this year we beat them head to head for a recruit. I bet Finn Brown is one of them, and the other is one of the other Canadian players who committed this year.

He also said he really likes recruiting Canadian players. I wouldn't be surprised to see the number of players from Canada increase over the coming years.
