Arthouse theaters will stick around in areas that cater to indie/art film connoisseurs (mainly hipsters and snooty rich people).

Arthouses are churches for smart people. The movie is the excuse. They will always exist, for the same reason that Kindles won't kill indy bookstores.

In non-Coronavirus/Stock Market news... Boeing's recommendation for owners of 787 aircraft? A standard joke among IT professionals and non-IT professionals: Did you try turning it off and back on again?
According to the directive itself, if the aircraft is powered on for more than 51 days this can lead to "display of misleading data" to the pilots, with that data including airspeed, attitude, altitude and engine operating indications. On top of all that, the stall warning horn and overspeed horn also stop working.
How is Boeing still a company?

I'll see a movie on the big screen if it has massive special effects, and/or I won't be able to avoid the hype. Even then, I go to the earliest Sunday showing at the theater. I've never encountered more than 6-7 others there at that time.

As for small businesses, some restaurants are doing ok (hint: the ones that don't really serve alcohol besides the bottle of beer or bottle of single serve wine). The ones who really rely on that profit margin...I'd be worried.

As for breweries (and this relates to that stimulus package), they have converted to curbside, added online ordering, and have added a delivery area for two reasons:
                      1. Customer service
                      2. Keeps their employees on the payroll

My go-to local brewery is using this time to remodel their interior, all done by employees, to also keep them on the payroll.

Thankfully, there is a grass-roots movement, so to speak, to keep going to the small businesses, to keep them alive through this. I've actually ordered MORE to-go food than I normally do, because I can, and I don't want to see these businesses close.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

If its this bad and we haven't even hit the peak yet......

And with this administration "in charge"......

So, a year from now things will be better?

Whew, that's a relief. How many dead by that time? My number from the beginning was half a million.

                              Just like the flu.

                                US or the world?
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.
