You do understand all 3 states are exactly the same place to the rest of us, right?

          North Dakota, a little colder.

Wisconsin, a little drunker. OK, a lot drunker.

          Minnesota, a little Garrison Keillorer.

But the same make and model.

Also this isn't the 90's yet you act like the Cubs are your team.

-I know the NS moved - but I would never latch onto another team the way you did with NJ. Hell even to this day I cheer for the Wild but the feeling will never be the same.

I know you know this is tongue-in-cheek but truth at the same time.
You know I watched the Cubs all the time growing up with all their afternoon games, right? That's how they became my NL team, and why I loved them. And it was ok, because the only time the AL and NL played was in the WS (well, AS game, but that didn't count back then).
Yeah, pretty much, in the Bills' case.
When NS died, they died. Could be worse: I coulda became a Wings fan.

Yes Rube we all watched Cubs games back then. All the time. Any baseball fan did because all of their games were broadcast. Didn't force anyone to suddenly pretend they were their team and again no it wasn't ok.

                  https://www.xfl.com/rules

                  XFL rules highlights:

                  - Kickoffs are in. Coverage team starts on the opposing 35, receiving team starts 5 yards away facing them on their 30. Kicker and receiver are the only ones allowed to move until the ball is caught or on the ground for 3 seconds. (Decent compromise between safety and playmaking, though I see a lot of boneheaded penalties in the first few weeks.)
                  - Standard NFL onside kick - kicking team must declare to the official first. (Gah - I liked the 4th down conversion idea.)
                  - No PAT kick. Teams have the option of a 1-point conversion from the 2, a 2-pointer from the 5, or a 3-pointer from the 10. (Neat, allows for comebacks.)
                  - There are now "major" touchbacks that spot the ball at the 35 in certain circumstances.
                  - Double forward pass is allowed as long as the ball has not yet crossed the line of scrimmage for both passes. (Heck yeah! Shades of NFL Blitz.)
                  - OT is alternating conversion attempts from the 5 yard line, shootout style, best of 5, sudden death rounds if tied. (You know what...fine. At least it's fair.)
                  - 25 second play clock.
                  - Clock runs after incompletions/out of bounds plays.
                  - Clock stops on all plays after the 2-minute warning until the ball is spotted. 5-second runoff if ball was downed inbounds.
                  - 2 timeouts per team per half.
                  - No coaches' challenges. All plays subject to booth review. Booth can overturn obvious player safety calls, or obvious blown calls in last 5 minutes of the 4th. (One of the AAF's better ideas carries over - good.)
                  - A "catch" is: 1) secure control of a live ball before it touches the ground, 2) touch the ground inbounds with any part of the body, 3) maintain control long enough to make an "act common to the game." (Ruh roh.)

New Jersey is for people who can't make it in New York. Massachusetts is for people who can't make it in New Jersey.

Seriously, I've lived in two of them and spent time in the third and I can't tell you the difference, except each of them is actually two states: an aggressively vile urban one and an obnoxiously stupid rural one. But, yeah, you're going to find mostly as-sholes, no argument.

I lived upstate NY for a while (glances at RPI Masters on wall to left). That assessment is fairly accurate.

There were rural folk in Saratoga and Schenectady and Fulton and Warren Counties that were backwards beyond my rural ND upbringing. But then there was NYC.

Thing is the same "two states in one" argument could be made out here lately. Most of Wisconsin is not Madison; most of Minnesota (outstate) is not MSP metro; and, believe it or not, even ND is getting a bit that way with Fargo trying to be MSP-lite versus not Cass County ND*.

*I suspect ND may soon become "east of I29 / west of I29" as Grand Forks becomes larger.

It's probably true of everywhere. Perhaps the exception is the states where the "city" is a joke (VT, WV, WY, ME, DE, MT, ND, NH). In those places the pseudo-city could be, dare I say, pleasant and fairly intelligent, especially if it is dominated by a university.

Geographically sure, but roughly 60% of the state lives in the Twin Cities metro.

According to this only 7% of MN pop lives in Minneapolis. The extended SMSA can be very deceptive.

Highest percentage of state living in largest city:
