    Re: Boston University 2019-2020

Unrelated: John McCarthy retired from playing hockey due to a Ischemic stroke he suffered a few weeks ago. It was discovered he had a previously undetected hole in his heart which caused the stroke. He's OK and will recover fully and become a member of the San Jose AHL team's coaching staff.

Can't help but wonder if that track continues successfully whether he'd want to come home down the line.

OMG!! That’s too bad. Sounds like he’s OK, though. Which is good.

No changes shown yet on the roster. Some details and video on Abel and Skoog, both of whom are 20 years old, in this post.

McCarthy had become a beloved fan favorite with the Barracuda. The comments from the Sharks GM and Barracuda GM in the press release reflect the high regard the organization has for McCarthy. He won an NCAA title, played in the NHL, set franchise records in the AHL and played in the 2018 Olympics. Quite a resume.

... all from a guy who was a recruited walk-on at BU (as noted on the Terrier Blog). He’s outperformed expectations at every level. So it shouldn’t be a surprise if that happens at the coaching level too.

Today's exhibition game will be streamed on CBS All-Access. Hearing that new arrival Skoog is expected to center Mastrosimone and Phillips.

Can anyone who saw/was at the game comment on the new goalie? He obviously didn’t see a lot of shots but any first impressions would be appreciated.

Also it appears that Tucker did not dress? Safe to assume there is nothing to read into this? Just giving him rest and the new guy and a backup a chance to play in a meaningless game?

I thought he looked great. But someone needs to tell him and the other new guy about how the team lines up in numerical order on the blue line for the anthem.

Many did not dress - Harper, Curry, Crotty, Farrance. And Tucker, too. Nothing to read into this.

Purpura was dressed but Nico Lynch came in to play the third and was awesome.

Zegras is an assist machine at the World Juniors, they’ve added two shiny new players, and Cockerill is coming back (right?)... I can be talked into being optimistic about the second half.

Haven't heard anything recently on Logan but I remember hearing when he got hurt the thought was he'd be back at some point in January.
