Collins has been a good senator for Maine and at this point is a victim of circumstance more than anything else. I’m not sure we’d be better off with someone else in there.

Dump is watching Sondland's hearing. Nunes just left the room for an extended period. Purely a coincidence, I'm sure.

Anybody call ahead to Walter Reed?

Not if she's supported Republican policies she hasn't.

The thing Republican voters don't seem to understand is GOP policies hurt all states and constituencies (except the 1%). They typically hurt red states and constituencies more since they are lethal to the poor and lower middle class.

I’ve spent most of my adult life wondering why Murkowski doesn’t just go “I”. Every six years she gets immolated by every RWNJ in this state and yet she remains on the “R”...

Does Nunes ever say anything that is accurate? Or does he literally mislead and lie with every statement he makes? The idiots in his district who vote for that piece of 5h!t need to hang their heads in shame. I don't support capital punishment but I'm starting to think treason against the United States might warrant it. The only problem is the sheer number of elected republican who need to be put to death, and apparently there is a shortage of the drugs needed for lethal injection. Screw it, just hang them on the public square.

I heard a while ago she was less partisan than Maine’s ‘independent’ senator. If we had 10 Susan Collins on both sides our county would be a million times better off. It would be foolish to replace her with a partisan, regardless of what side they are on.

No, Drew. We have fascists vs democrats. Sanity is not the midpoint.

Particularly in Alaska where I seems to be an advantage (even if it's really just an R who likes to wear angora).

the republicans are so deplorable that only a partisan hack would go along with them. that's why our independent senator caucuses with the Democrats and usually votes in line with them

that ship has sailed. she's only an enabler now, not a moderating influence

I would describe it more as a vicious circle.

She’d probably do more for Alaska as an “I” being able to trade votes for support for particular projects in Alaska, highway funding, some earthquake repair funding.

Granted, we’d need to bring back earmarks...
