I guess you guys are much more altruistic.
And even the ones who supposedly you represent that would be all upset, would get over it in 2 months when they noticed their bill didnt actually change all that much. People always whine and complain about everything until they have something new to whine and complain about. Everyone knows that, you and the company you work for are just too chickenchit to do what is right.
Call the fee something else if it is really going to get them to picket your office. Since we know who you are talking about we know it isnt the money it is the name. (like the jackholes who dont tip because restaurants charge a fee to offset the new wage rules) We know they arent winning any intelligence contests. So find a way around it like everyone else does. Takes all of 20 minutes. Of course that would require thinking..."It's as if the Drumpf Administration is made up of the worst and unfunny parts of the Cleveland Browns, Washington Generals, and the alien Mon-Stars from Space Jam."

We've made green energy initiatives and investments, but can't find members willing to buy in. (Want to buy 25% of a solar farm?)Last edited by The Sicatoka; 02-13-2020, 12:37 PM.The preceding post may contain trigger words and is not safe-space approved. <-- Virtue signaling.

People think they're being screwed by things like energy efficiency charges. "I didn't get a new furnace in the last 20 years, why am I paying for Billy Bob's?" Never mind that for every dollar they subsidize Billy Bob, they're saving $1.20 in generation costs. They'd rather pay the $1.20 to their utility than give a lesser amount to "those people."
Battery storage will make green energy base load acceptable within the next 25 years, and since solar and wind are already cost competitive, the green energy surcharge won't be necessary. Hell, if you properly allocated carbon costs today, a green surcharge wouldn't be necessary.
You shouldn't make green energy an optional program, just add it to your generation mix and put it into base rates.Last edited by unofan; 02-13-2020, 01:04 PM.
