    Cards versus Skidmore Exhibition 10/26.

Cards score on the power play go up 1-0.

Skidmore ties it up on a 5 on 3 powerplay.

After the end of 1: tied at 1, SOG: Cards 9 - Skid 3

Cards go up 2-1 at 16:51 on a power play goal.

Now 3-1 as the Cards score their first full strength goal of the game.

At 12:56 Skidmore scores a power play goal, now 3-2.

At 10:10 Cards get their own 5 on 3 power play goal to go up 4-2.

Power play goal by Skidmore makes it 4-3.

    After 2 periods of play - Cards 4 - Skidmore 3 - SOG: Cards 23 - Skid 8.

Skidmore gets their second 5 on 3 power play goal to rie it 4-4.

Cards score a beautiful full strength goal to go up 5-4.

Cards add an empty net goal to go up 6-4.

    And that's the final 6-4, SOG 34-17

I'm hoping the officials were trying to send a message - though many on BOTH sides were quite blatant - and stupid - The box is here.

The Christian DiFelice pass to Christian Thomas was an Awesome goal.

Looks like a box score from an Adrian game. Plattsburgh shouldn't be playing an exhibition every year with Skidmore if it's going to be this kind of game.

            Cardinal Hockey Fans,

Below is an email that went out to our hockey alumni base regarding the upcoming ALS weekend and I would like to share it with you. My request is, that you encourage (bring) a friend that does NOT have season tickets to come to the games vs. Brockport and Geneseo and support our efforts in raising awareness and money for ALS. Thank you in advance and see you this weekend!

            Steve Moffat

We have some news that we would like to share with you about one of our own Plattsburgh State Brothers. Below is an email that he shared with me...
For those not familiar with who I am, my name is Lenny Pereira and I was diagnosed with ALS in August 2018.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. It affects as many as 30,000 in the United States, with 5,000 new cases diagnosed each year. Estimates suggest that ALS is responsible for as many as five of every 100,000 deaths in people aged 20 or older.
Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.
Steve Moffat graciously contacted me in July of this year and asked if I would be interested in participating in this ALS event. Without any hesitation I stand here before you today with tremendous hope that with our efforts this weekend, Plattsburgh State hockey is staking its claim in fighting this disease.
We know ALS is a disease we can tackle, a problem we can solve. ALS is curable; it’s just underfunded. Most of us here today are all aware of the monumental movement that the ice bucket challenge, envisioned by Pete Frates, was. Because of that movement, and its tremendous funding, I stand here today as the first participant in the phase two T REG trial in the United States.
Today, with efforts like these there is real hope, like never before.
            Thank you
            Lenny
            What will we do...
            1. We will have ALS information in the track portion of the fieldhouse during the entire weekend.
            2. We will have special ALS Game jerseys auctioned off during the weekend.
            3. T-Shirt sales
            4. Silent auction and raffle items up for grabs. We have NHL and NFL Autographed jerseys up for auction, raffle items from local vendors, etc.
            5. 50/50 raffle each night.

Any news on Rich McCartney? I see him still listed on the roster, but he hasn't played yet. Injury? Healthy scratch? Not actually on the team any more?

He scored in the Buffalo game (Third Star of the game), as to why it took do long to play??

The Dec 6th game against Canton is advertised as a Teddy Bear Toss game. Anyone have any details or releases from the college about it? My son loves watching them on YouTube (especially Hershey Bears and Utica's toss games) and I'd love to let him partake in one...

Plattsburgh State faces stellar field in PrimeLink

                    Excerpt -

Today's opening round has rivals Norwich and Middlebury going at it at 4 p.m., followed by Eau Claire against Plattsburgh State at 7 p.m. The third-place game and championship are scheduled for 4 and 7 p.m., respectably, on Saturday.

“The PrimeLink is the premier Division III tournament in the country,” Plattsburgh State coach Steve Moffat said. “It's a stellar field filled with great teams. Norwich and Eau Claire are both unbeaten, and Middlebury is very good.

“It will be an exciting weekend for North Country hockey fans.”

The Cardinals enter the weekend unbeaten (3-0-1) in their last four games.

Plattsburgh State, however, has yet to put together all facets of its game over 60 minutes. The Cardinals, last Friday, broke loose offensively with seven goals, but had several defensive breakdowns in a 7-5 home win over Potsdam.

“We will look at the video of the game and learn from it,” Moffat said, following the game.

It seems to be a trend that this team runs out of gas in third periods. They looked very slow against Eau Claire tonight in the third. Are there conditioning issues with this group?
