How embarrassing for Lawrence. Two brand new programs within the past 4 years already passing them up.

It is very early, but indications are that the NCHA NCAA auto bid will be very competitive this season.
SNC and Adrian both lose their conference openers and Marian, MSOE, Aurora, LFC and Trine all look stronger....

Plus the loss of Northland makes the conference more competitive.

Northland is currently one spot ahead of SNC in the way too early Pairwise Rankings.

I watched part of the MSOE vs LFC game last night...impressed with the speed and skill that MSOE has added at forward, plus their new goalie played well enough to win his fifth game of the season.

Adrian and SNC are facing off in a weekend series that has historically decided the Peters Cup, this year likely not. This is the first time these teams are meeting where at least one is not ranked.

I apparently didn't check the USCHO rankings before making this post. Adrian is just barely in the top 15.

SNC won 1-0 on a goal with about 4 left.

Adrians goalie played well, and was helped by three posts. The goal just slipped by him as Bates came down the right side and snuck it short side.

Good action up and down the ice. Only got a little pushy shovy one time.

I believe it had been 12 years since SNC had won a 1-0 game, IIRC.

                          Re: Ncha 2019-20

Adrian returned the one-goal win favor on Saturday, with a 3-2 OT triumph

Marian leads the north with 16 points, SNC in second at 14 - but Marian has two games in hand.

LFC leads the south at 20, then Aurora at 17. But LFC has three in hand on Aurora (!)''

LFC beats MSOE 5-4 tonight. I don’t know what is more surprising, LFC leading the conference or MSOE with only one conference win this season?

It's taken six top heavy seasons to get there but competitive balance has arrived in the NCHA.
