bbdl suggested "Ugly Delicious" series to me, on Netflix streaming. I now hate him for it. Food porn during a shutdown?! Arsehole.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

I recently added this to my To Watch list and have watched 1 Ep so far. I have really enjoyed Chef's Table although that series is far more cerebral and isn't for everyone.

My wife and I have used the YT feature from the PS4 quite a bit as she loves watching food traveling bloggers. Some of them are annoying but not all of it.

Ugly Delicious is fun and interesting to watch. Lately the wife and I have been binging Bon Appetit YouTube videos. Brad Leone is a riot. When he eventually gets exhausting, switch it up to Claire Saffitz or Chris Morocco. I find myself enjoying it even when I'm not terribly interested in having what they're making.

Watched the Fried Rice and Stuffed eps...and it wasn't OVERLY apparent before that, but these episodes REALLY brought it to the forefront. This is United Shades Of America, but with food. Well, food porn, to be honest. Jesus, that food looks awesome.

I do like how they sample the chains/frozen foods/etc, also, for comparison.

The Great 1.2 got even better. It's a keeper. It's our replacement for BoJack which we finished.

I have a radical theory of the final episode of BoJack (which I hated) which I will share if anybody gives a sh-t.

I think I'm done with Last Kingdom after season 1. It's GOT's (political story) last season over and over again with worst writing.

I tried the first episode of The Great and honestly I was disappointed. I know it's only meant to be loosely based on historical events, but frankly they could have stuck a little closer to actual things that happened. Maybe I come in knowing too much about the history, but at this point the only accurate things are there are people named Peter and Catherine and a place called Russia. I think the real story is more interesting and would help make their point better. They also pretty much throw subtlety out the window; yes I get Peter is a dick; yes I get Russia is backwards; stop shoving it down my throat.

Trust me. It was written for us. The more you know the better it is.

It works on a superficial level for the dummies, and god bless em. But it works for us precisely because it is satire. They're making side jokes about 17th century aesthetic theory for god's sake.

It's going to look stupid because it has the form of a cookie cutter show for Young Empowered Women, which was all teevee was for about a decade. But I swear it's even more of a parody of those shows and their superficiality. Just give it a couple more tries, OK? It's way, way smarter than it has any right to be. You know I do not suffer the normies gladly.

The Last Czars was flawed but at least compelling.

You have to remember that since Kepler likes looking at the women (or some other less than academic reason to like the show) he has to pretend there is something deeper going on so he can justify it to himself. Soon he will probably say "it is actually a satire of those satires because the creators went double meta to really show you the truth behind the message!" when in reality he is thinking "I dont much care for the facts...beautiful people are doing dumb things and I like watching it. Plus Boobz!!1!!"

Kepler is the guy at the museum who looks at some random piece of art, goes on a 20 minute diatribe about how the artist is using it to show the torture of man in the 21 century amidst the changing culture and technology...only to find out that it is actually just an old dude sitting in a chair because he is tired while his grandson sits on his phone not caring.
