Never liked Walken. Malkovich neither, for the most part, but some things I can tolerate him in.

I think it's the way they both talk. And look. And everything else.
What kind of cheese are you planning to put on top?

    • Idk how many big soccer fans there are out there but Sunderland till I die is a tremendous behind the scenes look at a European soccer team that actually tells the stories behind the game rather than the actual results.

      Season 2 just dropped recently.

For me as someone who is at best a VERY distant premier league fan, it’s crazy to me to see what has happened to Sunderland as I remember them being a prominent team in the and 90s and early 2000s and now seeing what it’s become is crazy.

Walken's become a sad parody of himself in the second half of his career, like Nicholson did. They're the same story: excellent actors who did interesting work then got super lazy and just cashed checks.

Maher's show this week was much better than last week, and the interviews with deBlasio and Gore were excellent. When his guests are via link he can't do his nyuck nyuck interruptions and he just lets them talk and it's far more effective.

I love Colbert but his home shows are unwatchable except for Jon Baptiste who I always wish was my friend (though he would never hang with me; he's kind but there are limits).

I saw the Woke Left weren't very happy with one of his segments this week.

Colbert's home shows have proven how far his writing staff has fallen. He needs to refresh the talent pool before this fall.

It's weird that as one of the few Cafe people actually in the Woke Left I never know what you people are referring to when you drop stuff like this.

I assume it was the "China virus" bit at the end? Dr. Mrs. didn't care for it either. I didn't care either way. If that's what he wants to vent about right now, well, you be you, Bill.

It's not weird at all when we know the sort of social circles you run in.

And yes, it was the segment where he said it was OK to name the virus after its place of origin and basically called out the very sort of "social justice"/outrage culture types whom he pi55ed off with that commentary. So I guess it found its intended audience.

It's been his hobby horse since Politically Incorrect. Meh, whatever; I think the world has more immediate problems. I do wish we would realize that every time we interrupt the pressure on the GOP to be critical of a coalition partner, the Nazis smile. It's doing their work for them.

Eviscerating allies for threatening unity is an ironic self-own.

As for circles, you know nothing about mine. If you believe that "Beltway cocktail party" blather I recommend you consider the source.

Except he sounded like an idiot when he said “and of course, the Spanish Flu.”

That flu almost certainly started in Kansas. Spain got labeled because they were neutral in WWI and the other countries it was ravaging were keeping it quiet. If you’re going to go on a smug rant about origin-based names, you can’t cite an example that was entirely geopolitical.

I havent seen the segment (just the Left's Outrage about it on Twitter) but I dont see what the big deal is. As far as we know the virus was first found in Wuhan...calling it the "Wuhan Virus" doesnt seem that out of place. (though I dont much care either way)

Then again I am not looking for crap to be upset about since there is plenty of legitimate stuff to deal with right now.

The number of people upset about it is dwarfed by the number of people looking to score points against those supposed people. This is a 2-minute hate, seeded to create a diversion and dissension.

I never thought I’d watch a HORSE competition, but this has actually been pretty interesting and provided some good fodder.

Zach Lavine: Hey Paul, I wanna try a half court shot, can you do that at your house?

Paul Pierce: Half court? Hey, turn that camera to the left. Yeah half court isn’t gonna work, That’s my pool over there. *shows off pool and hot tub backed up to the mountains*

West World has gone for Matrix on the bit. Too bad. Delores is still one of the greatest characters in TV history.
HBO premiered something called 'Run' last night. Very interesting.
Killing Eve (I didn't watch yet) is back for season 3. It doesn't get any better than that series.
