          From MTU :

The Voice of the Huskies, Mix 93.5 FM WKMJ, has recently won three awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters in the Commercial Radio Market 4 category.

The station received a Play-By-Play Sports award for the 2019 Miner's Cup Broadcast of the Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan football game. The Huskies won 24-20 to secure the cup for the 10th straight season. Josh Ylitalo broadcasted the game from Kearly Stadium with former Husky Brett Gervais. Ylitalo has been calling Tech football games since 2012.

Dirk Hembroff also received a pair of awards from the MAB for his 6-10 a.m. weekday show The Dirkside. Hembroff received Morning Show Broadcast Personality award and a Sports award for his daily sports update. Hembroff hosts the Joe Shawhan Hour on Mondays and Huskies Drivetime on Tuesdays throughout the season on his show. Hembroff has been the voice of the hockey huskies for 18 years.

Mitch Lake is also employed by the radio station and has been calling Michigan Tech basketball games on the radio since the early 1980s. He is also the public address voice of Kearly Stadium during football games and the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena during Tech hockey games.

Remember back, a conversation about the current upside and speculation when / if Tech could compete for a frozen 4, looking back at the lineup for the Broadmoor win struck my short term memory a bit, Luch on the third line, Neville just a team critical piece player with big moment guys like Jake Jackson, and L'Esperance. Depth solid support with Sturos and Heinonen.
The D just loaded with 5 of maybe the best to play Tech for years.
Then, the Beef on a magical run.

Now comes the debate that the next 2 years offers the program the best chance for a frozen 4 in years. Big moment guys like Tommy P, Bliss, Halonen, and Broetzman with rock solid support with Logan Pietila, Ganie, and Saretsky. Will Blake Pietila take the starters job and not give any playing time to anybody else.
Do we have a second iteration of the D with Gotz, Datema, Swoyer, and Lipe leading the way. The team guys Misiak and Reitmeier who keep supplying clutch plays. With Bantle, the Kukkonens, and the recruits signed, I sure wish we could have got the data point of that Mankato playoff series, but expect a whole lot more fun on its way!
