This would sting if I knew what you were referring to. I may have blocked it out but I have no recollection of a big Wilmer K.

Mookie reads that as a collective K..... not a specific K (if that helps )

It was a deep cut, allow me to jog your memory.

My favorite Mets memory is Carlos Beltran with a bat on his shoulder to close out a series.

That pitch was low. I had no memory that Wilmer was the last hitter.

I have nothing but great memories from that run. I value that pennant more than the others because that team had so much joy and resolve. And the NL playoffs were superb.

I also really liked that KC team and have friends from MO, so it didn't sting at all.

Thank you for the reminder of a great Mets season and a ton of happiness.

Here's the thing. Once you've lived through 1977 and 1979 and 1993, all seasons are a pleasure. .500 is paradise. Mets fans have the strongest antibodies on Earth. You can never hurt us because they have so often; you are merely an amateur.

Can't be as bad as Miggy taking a called third, on a fastball right down Broadway, to end a World Series.

The '91 Series featured not one, not two, not three, not four, but five one-run games and three extra-inning games, the last coming in Game 7. In either case most Top 5 or Top 10 lists will have both '91 and '86 in there, '88 less often.

Was it the 87 where it was the first time that the home team won every game for a 7 game series? Or was that 91? I know it was one of them.

Mookie can recall the 91 series with some clarity.

As an aside, mookie was shocked when he saw below that the royals defeated the Mets (!!!!). Never would have guessed NY won the NL that year.

87 was the first, 91 was the second.

Made sense. Not trying to diminish anything here, but the dome was a very hard place to play in. Especially if you didn't have 81 games in it for practice.

That explains the Twins home wins, but...

MLBN is playing Seavers 300th win. Ken Harrelson was actually tolerable in 1983 as a broadcaster. I guess he only became ridiculous at the end.

1991 is a classic. Obviously I'm biased, but it was the best World Series that I have ever seen.

1987 was interesting. It was sort of the opposite of the '91 World Series. Not a single game went to the Bottom of the Ninth.
