Heck, let's go back to when there was four strikes and five balls for each at bat. Traditionalists like Kepler would love that...

Why no designated runner when a slow man reaches?

In fact, why not just have ONE batter, the best on the team, and then designated runners, the fastest on the team, for all men on base, and then designated fielders for every position?

I mean, we want to see THE BEST, right? Anything else would just be olde timey and uncool, right?

Sometimes you people make me sad. This is why our planet is a toilet. You don't understand when to leave things the f-ck alone.

And they're right and everyone else is wrong.

Americans don't know it yet, but they basically want to turn baseball into cricket.

Because a) teams dont run anymore, and b) the 1 batter would get tired batting 27+ times.

At least put forth some effort in your nonsense.

It's the logical extension of the braindead DH argument. I can't help the corollaries once the axiom is so stupid.

Quiet you. It’s fun watching Kep become unhinged because of all this!

Here’s a hint: the people who care most about baseball, and all of this, are mostly over 40.

I know. I'm one of them! Although I'm not as extreme as Kep.

NL way is fine. But i won't die over the DH.

A friend on Amazin Ave pointed out that in 2018 catchers' combined OBP (.293) was lower than pitchers' (.304). By the logic presented in this thread, there should be 2 DH slots.

You know what. The DH is welcome to the NL IF it's for the catchers. We shouldn't have to make those poor guys take their gear off/get dressed to play on the off chance they have to hit. Pitchers still have to hit for themselves though.

Why not only let pitchers hit. No one else. That would be a different type of entertainment!

It also solves the length of game issues. We will get tidy 1 hr 30 min games.
