Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: The Banana Bread Is Running Out
Worked from home today. It was (and still is) so gross out. Been a long two days...well, week at work. Had a bit of a meltdown with a colleague because I was late with a presentation...too long and complicated to go into. I wound up having to have a talk with my boss. Got the "you need to grow" talk. It was unsettling. Things at the company have changed in the past year, overall talent changes. You know what annoys me? I'm happy at my job. I'm well liked. I like what I do. I'm really good at it. I'm not looking to get promoted or move up. And now I feel I may be punished for it, you know? I know what I want to do and I also know what I don't want to do. Why is that a bad thing? Gah. Maybe it is time for me to rethink things. I just wouldn't know the first thing about looking for a new position. I have no time to deal with that.
Anyway, today I spent 40 minutes at Best Buy's Geek Squad, then another 45 minutes on the phone with Comcast, then another almost TWO hours on the phone with Microsoft Support and still have no resolution. I have a Mac with have Microsoft Office365 loaded on it and use Outlook for my email. It's a Comcast email account. For some reason, Outlook isn't connecting to the Comcast mail server. I can get my mail on my iPhone, iPad and through the Xfinity website so Comcast says it's not them. The Geek Squad guy deleted the email account and now it can't be added back in. The Microsoft support guy also tried the default mail app that came with the computer. That also would not connect to the Comcast server so he thinks it's Comcast. So I have to call Comcast back. Not going to do that till tomorrow. My brain hurt by the end of all that.
No hockey for me this weekend but I was remiss in mentioning I was at the HHT last week!

FHT but expected.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

sure you know this, but a person has to realize that when they stay in a role they are limited themselves. at some point if you expect a raise year after year you price yourself out of that position. roles budget for x-to-y, and if after how many years to end up being z the raises and bonuses will tighten or disappear altogether. plus you are at the top of the list when it comes times to reduce cost
a legend and an out of work bum look a lot alike, daddy.
Yeah, for the most part. Youngest team in college on the road, first (real) game of the season? I would have been surprised if we won.
