Evening, Lodge. bbdl hosted a nice viewing party for the MN Gophers bowl game. Great brisket, great beer, good to see folks that haven't seen each other in a bit. Back to the grind tomorrow.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Year-end processing starts for me tomorrow morning. Somehow I'm not dreading it one bit.

Well, when you become accustomed to a certain lifestyle it's difficult to change.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: The Banana Bread Is Running Out

Greetings Lodge. Happy New Year to you all! Back at work today. Still have the head cold. It's better, but as the day has gone on, the worse I'm feeling. My boss said I can head home soon. I took public transportation this morning. I was using my crutch. It was a bit of a struggle, but doable. Thankfully it's a nice day today.

Was thinking about asking if I could work from home today but I knew I had a lot of deliveries while I was out. Sure enough, I couldn't get to my desk when I got in this morning I had so many boxes in my cube. Didn't want to have to deal with it on Monday. I'm planning to work from home tomorrow. It was actually good to get out of the house this morning.

    Nope.

In the office at just about 7:40. Walked in the house this evening at 6:40. All on about 4 hours sleep. I can deal with this.

Evening, Lodge. I knew work today would be one of two ways: the easy way, or sideways. It went all the sideways. Onslaught of business, the holiday hangover did not linger until next week, that's for sure.

At least it's a 2 day week for me. That helps.

My back is really tight and itís difficult to move right now. Is it possible for this to happen after a possible strain yesterday morning? I had no pain or stiffness at all during the day but I did move some heavy boxes yesterday morning.

I may need to go to Urgent Care today. Not sure what they can do. Maybe a muscle relaxer?

ICE!! Conference I went to this Fall had a thing on Back Pain- they HATED on muscle relaxers. Actually they have been hating on them for yrs. Paraphrasing- They don't work. They make people sleepy, increase risk of falls, increase risk of confusion and 'hangover stupid'. They are still prescribed because Americans do not like being told tincture of time, move every hour and ice. They like to believe there is a magic bullet. Explaining that is so time consuming Providers give it just to get the person out of the room. The likelihood of prescription of Muscle relaxers and pain meds increases as the day ngoes on and the Provider is farther and farther behind.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: The Banana Bread Is Running Out

I used ice this morning (after a little heat), plus took three Advil. Didnít do much. It did help a bit. Iíd be totally ok with them saying take 600 or 800 mg of Advil every 4-6 hours and ice it. But how often? 20 minutes every hour? And I like hearing to get up and move. I donít mind doing that, just didnít want to do so without hearing it from someone.

Iím in the car now on the way to the Walk In Clinic at the hospital. I also canít seem to get rid of this cold and it wouldnít surprise me if both issues were somehow related.
