  • Norwich’s balance has been the story so far this season. Conway still leads with 15 points but the seventh best scorer has 9. All four lines have been contributing and they’ve been getting a lot of production from defense. Freshmen class is filled with talent, probably best class they’ve had since the current senior class and maybe one of the best in program history.

Norwich has also almost split their 3 goalies evenly this season with playing time and they’ve all looked sharp during their turn in net.

I’m excited for the East-West Classic in about a month when Adrian, Norwich, Plattsburgh and Elmira all get together again at Kreitzberg for their annual midseason measuring stick.

Plattsburgh up 3-0 starting the second. 2019 NEWHL ROY Hanna Rose is making her first appearance of the season.

Chatham beat Buff State 3-0 earlier. This is the earliest in a season the program has gotten to 5 wins, and the Cougars have been suiting up since 02-03.

Oswego gave up an early goal but beat Canton 2-1.

Hamilton beat Morrisville 5-1 on the road, with Giuttari scoring a hat trick.

Cailey Kozich of UMB scored a hatty of her own in the Beacons' 6-0 win over NEC.

Conn College up 2-0 on William Smith in the 2nd frame.

Edit: Plattsburgh with a 5-2 win over Cortland that got ugly with a hit from behind. Red Dragons cut it to 3-2 until they gave up 2 goals during a 5 on 3.

The Camels finish a 5-0 shutout of William Smith. Trinity with a 6-1 win on Salem State. Scoreless tie for Lake Forest and Trine. Also scoreless is Concordia (MN) at St. Thomas but that's at the first intermission. Norwich and Neumann both up 3-0 in the 2nd over Suffolk and Alvernia respectively.

GAC posted their line chart on IG and I noticed they're only playing one junior and one senior and the rest are underclassmen. Very impressive season so far for such a young roster

        • Amanda Conway breaks Norwich’s all-time goal scoring record with her 94th goal today. Passed Julie Fortier ‘12 for the most all-time. She now sits 9th on the ncaa all-time foals scored list. Next up is Melissa Sheeran, who had 97.

Elmira goes 2-0 on the weekend. The Williams game did not disappoint. Great contest. If not for the EA goal late, Elmira would have won all seven of their games this year in a shut-out. This is the first win of the year where a goal was given-up. Williams applied some heavy pressure at the end, and this one went-down to the final seconds. Well-played by both teams.

            Cheers!!!

Norwich alumna Kaycie Anderson with a nice shorty yesterday for the NWHL's CT Whale. She put one past lauded Hamilton alumna Sam Walther for the score.

Hard to determine who’s the top dog in the West right now. Seems like there are 4-5 western teams that could be in the running for the western spots in the FF.

It's really hard to see when the link to the D-III Pairwise rankings leads you to the article for the 2014 Laura Hurd Award winner.... C'mon USCHO.... how does that even happen?

The link is working for me and it ranks the top western teams as Adrian (5), GAC (6), Eau Claire (8) River Falls (9), Hamline (13). But I don't know how much to trust a computer ranking that has Colby as #1.

The links work fine on a computer. But if using the USCHO app on a mobile device the links are erratic and are not working properly.

Not enough games played for meaningful data. You really need 20 games before it gets reliable.

GAC gets their win back with a 3-1 win over River Falls last night. Molly McHugh scored 2 of the 3 goals for Gustavus.

New England College sophomore goalie Cianna Weir made her mark on the record books this past Saturday, stopping 85 of Suffolk's shots on goal in a 2-0 loss. She is tied with LVC legend Jillian Moffat's 85 save performance against Elmira (3-0 loss on 11/10/18) for fourth on the single game saves list. Weir's only allowing 2 goals ties Moffat and St. Mary's alumnae Marah Shields as the second best outcome overall and best in regulation of the games on the published leaderboard.

Shot count in the NEC vs Suffolk game was 87 to 9. Not sure if that means Weir is a great goalie or the Rams offense isn't very efficient to only put it home twice (maybe both?).

Speaking of high save counts, Jillian Moffat has not made any single game entries onto this list yet this season but LVC still has games against Post, Elmira and Naz that might be promising. Moffat came into the season leading DIII in career saves with 3,544 saves (342 more than the #2 on that list) and has added 407 so far, standing at 3,951. She is threatening Lovisa Selander's (RPI) 4,167 mark for all of collegiate women's hockey and Robbie Moore's (Michigan) mark of 4,434 for all of NCAA hockey.

Definitely makes you wonder what Weir and Moffat might put up for numbers with a better team in front of them...
