I'll be... the Wings beat the Habs tonight.

Release the Kraken!
Eagles -- really boring
Emeralds -- acceptable
Evergreens -- a little stiff
Firebirds -- best choice since they inexplicably do not have Thunderbirds
Kraken -- stupid, stupid, stupid
Rainiers -- only if Portland gets the Hoods
Renegades -- stupid, childish
Sea Lions -- I mean... OK?
Seals -- there can be only one
Sockeyes -- gross
Totems -- funny but no
Whales -- sacrilegious
Seattle has one of the greatest hockey nicknames of all time, with a strong history. Just buy the rights and use it. It's perfect.

Re: NHL 2019-20 #1: Where Toronto Plans To Win Without Playing Defense.
I can understand not wanting to buy out the history of the WHL team, and Totem seems to be their way of having the Thunderbird logo without the name or rights.
Agree that Kraken is terrible.
Firebirds is the best alternative to T-birds, and can have a similar logo.
I really want a true Green and Gold team back in the NHL. And I want a Pacific Northwest themed logo like the WHL T-Birds and UAA Seawolves. Hopefully this is it.“Demolish the bridges behind you… then there is no choice but to build again.”

My Long Game is to bring the Winterhawks into the league someday too, which is one reason I wish the T-birds name would stay. Another is It's Just Frickin' Awesome.
The other choice for a PNW division is:
Portland Rose Buds
Seattle Metropolitans
Vancouver Canucks
Victoria Millionaires
All four have been in Stanley Cup finals in their history.
Obviously none of this really matters until we revive the Rat Portage Thistles.
