I hear ya Kep, but the minute the plutes in the GOP stop offering up racism they're going to be out on their a sses. I'm not sure if Weasel Paul Ryan actually gets off on seeing immigrant kids in cages, but did you notice his brave stand against the policy? Neither did I! He tucked tail and ran away leaving his dream of turning Medicare into tax cuts for the rich unfulfilled. Republican big wigs would like to put tax giveaways to the rich above all else, but they're riding a runaway train of racism right now and out of maybe 250 GOP Congresscritters between the House and Senate there not a single one who will stand up to the KKK base. Not one, out of 250. Really tough to pivot away from that...

You mean like how deficits are a major problem every time there's a Democratic president, but when Republicans are in office, the deficit doesn't matter anymore?

Or like how Mulvaney said their opposition to Obama wasn't based on race, but on principled Constitutional stands against an over-reaching executive, and you'd see the proof in the pudding once they also took principled Constitutional stands against the next Republican president?

      Yeah, good times.

        LOL https://www.politico.com/story/2019/...ong-un-1475726

The White House issued a clarification Monday stating that first lady Melania Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un did not, in fact, know each other personally as President Donald Trump erroneously claimed.

During a closing news conference at the annual G-7 summit, Trump used a question about the breakdown in relations with Iran to paint a parallel to the progress of nuclear talks between his administration and North Korea.

Calling Iran a “country with tremendous potential” prior to becoming an international provocateur and ramping up its nuclear program, Trump said he believes North Korea has similar potential if only it would disband its nuclear arsenal.

“I also say that, by the way, with respect to North Korea,” Trump told reporters. “Kim Jong Un, who I've gotten to know extremely well, the first lady has gotten to know Kim Jong Un and I think she would agree with me, he is a man with a country that has tremendous potential.”

As Trump mentioned his wife, a camera cut to Melania in the audience, who cocked her head slightly and looked somewhat quizzically at the president.

Several hours later, as the president and first lady flew back to Washington from the weekend’s summit with world leaders, press secretary Stephanie Grisham issued a statement shedding light on Trump’s comments.

“President Trump confides in his wife on many issues including the detailed elements of his strong relationship with Chairman Kim,” she said. “And while the First Lady hasn’t met him, the President feels like she’s gotten to know him too.”

"His balance deficit is a classic symptom of the PSP form of FTD."

That statement is quite the stretch....

Trump may have dementia...but he sure as hell does not look like he has PSP.

There are as many signs of Trump dementia as there are signs that he's truly just a scared, irascible, egomaniacal, hate-filled imbecile who's in over his head and never intended to actually win the 2016 election.

Tom Joseph is arm chair diagnosing which is BS. It is funny from the standpoint that Trump is bat[bleep] crazy but he has no legit basis to do it and it is dangerous to do so. His "evidence" is biased and unreliable at best and wouldnt stand up to strict scrutiny.

He may ultimately be right, but it isnt because of the evidence he presents or any sort of real firsthand knowledge. It would be closer to rightly guessing the Super Bowl Champion before the playoffs start. It is a lucky, albeit educated, guess. Nothing more. It is one step above the people who try and diagnose mental issues in killers based on quotes in news stories and the vague public facts of the crimes.

I let a lot of it go because it probably helps people cope with some of the things he does. But saying someone has PSP, which can be extremely challenging for a sub specialist to diagnose in person, is quite stupid. Especially if one knew anything about the disease, Trump's clinical picture and time course obviously would not fit it.

To imply that his gait disturbance while walking down the stairs is pathognomonic for PSP is like saying someone with a random fever has chronic Coxiella burnetii infection.

I agree that while the outcome might be right, the actions assessment is based upon isn't reliable.

I recall one a few weeks back where Tom Joseph said the shoulders and head moving backwards was involuntary; to me, it appeared he was reacting shocked to a bit of news given to him.

It's a mix of actual problems (leaning hard on the podium for long stretches for balance) and natural reactionary responses.

Leaning on the podium can mean many things. Old age being one of them. Body is tired. Heck, I have some back issues, I cannot stand in one place without shifting for any amount of duration. Also cannot sit in the same position without shifting for any duration of time.
