If I'm not mistaken who gets the "C" and "A" is determined by a vote of the players. Im not sure if that is current / returning / or whoever is on next years them but I think its a vote by current players.

From Bob McKenzie, Chase Priskie is not signing with the Caps and will be a free agent.

Chase Priskie, WSH 6th round pick in 2016, has informed the Capitals he will NOT be signing with them and will become UFA on Aug. 15. Priskie finished his senior season with Quinnipiac and should be a highly sought after free agent defenceman.
      Let's Go Bobcats!

Possible candidate but Whelan and Tufto would be my possible choices.

I could see either Jermain or Tufto as the Captain. whichever does not get it then would be an Assistant with either Whaelan or Cukste as the second. Jermain just needs to stay healthy. So who knows

Just saw that Fortunato is signing with Nashville, pending a physical. That’s great news. His unfortunate injury, I believe is the reason we’re not in Buffalo. I wish him the best. At his size he may have a tough road, but he’s a smart play maker and could have an impact at least at the AHL level.

This. The second he went down they probably weren't a Frozen Four team anymore. They probably were lucky to win one game with the right draw. They probably lose to anyone else.

That was very tough and a shame. It reminded me of Yale's infamous "pool accident" (was that Kaufmann?) where one event just drives a stake right into a team's balls.

Kep.....Just imagine how much the prices of Frozen Four tickets dropped without Cornell and Quinnipiac in that semifinal. I feel like that would have been an extremely tough ticket to get with Ithaca 2 1/2 from Buffalo along with Quinnipiac students and alum making the trek to Buffalo as well.

Sean Backman. Unlike Fortunato, it was not really an accident...

I'm not sure if UMD travels well. They sure ought to given how consistently good they have become.

I agree a Cornell-Q SF in Buffalo would have been packed. In 2003 we had a huge contingent in Buffalo, and I've seen Q pull very well in Lake Placid which is no more difficult to get to.

Don't think Chase had a shot after the Yale incident. Plus, after Brandon went down, so did his numbers. Hard to play QB and be the primary scoring threat. I think he had to do a lot more puck handling post Fortunato injury.
