Not ready to write off the Whale just yet, as they lead in goals 10 to 8.

Is that the Game 7 tiebreaker these days, or is it still SOG's?

I'd heard BvR to NU shortly after the transfer list news leaked, so not surprised if that comes to pass.

Actually your point, which initially escaped me, is well taken Scott. It may prove to be correct that vR goes to NU but at this point it's just a rumor!

With Margel's Letter of Intent, looks like he'll be part of freshman class. Souza said four or five, which may have had an eye on BVR. If so, that leaves one more spot.

          Fr.Margel---So.Pierson---Sr.Grasso

That is really good news...I'm glad UNH is taking this opp to bring in players rather than waiting. Wonder who else will come on board?? EDIT: upon further sleuthing not sure if he is coming this Fall...

I remember when Huntsville visited the Whitt several years ago when our own "Mr High and Wide" racked up four goals for the home team. :-)

Meanwhile, Warren Foegele (who?) is putting together a nice postseason with the Whale, evening up the Caps series 2-2 with another goal in 2-1 win tonight.

… and to think, he was struggling to earn 4th line ice time at the start of his soph season, vying for time with guys like Jamie Hill and Chris Miller. No wonder his coach failed to fulfil his Quest in the end …

Apparently he also hit TJ Oshie from behind in game 4 last night, knocking TJ out of the next few games; have not heard if Foegele will be facing disciplinary action from the NHL.

Never did see any back story on Foegele as to why he was in the dog house with Umile. Another one of those unexplained myteries right up there with Mike Ayers laying an egg against Maine at the FF in St Paul!

I believe that was also the season of the much-vaunted "senior checking/first line".

Lots of weird things going on with the program in the final few years of the Umile Era. Probably the first thing WF encountered during his all-too-brief stay in Durham was the starting goalie getting arrested and then kicked off the team. By the time next Fall came around, and he's scrapping for ice time behind the likes of Correale/Gaudreault/MacDonald, Looking at it in retrospect from his perspective, it had to look like a total clown show, and looking at what he's done since, he can't have any second thoughts.

I'm still waiting for the purported journalists out there to uncover the whole BvR thing … I gave up long ago hoping someone would have the intestinal fortitude to get to the bottom of Foegele's fall-out with DU. These days, WF plays like a guy that the old UNH teams at the turn of the century really could have used. Strong skater, two-way game, big compete level … what's not to like?

They'd take offense at being called journalists. Journalists try to create their own news, like Providence's Mark Divver and Lowell's Barry Scanlon (former Fosters reporter).
UML hockey recruits involved in historic game
                              The Lowell Sun

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Three UMass Lowell hockey recruits were part of an historic game Wednesday night.
Andre Lee, Brian Chambers and Carl Berglund went to bed happy -- and exhausted -- after their Sioux Falls Stampede defeated the Sioux City Musketeers, 3-2, in a four-overtime marathon before 4,295 fans.
It was the longest United States Hockey League game in the Tier 1 era. The game began at 7:05 p.m. and ended at 12:13 a.m. at the Denny Sanford Premier Center.
Lee, a forward, tied the game 2-2 in the third period. He was named the game's No. 3 star. Chambers and Berglund, also forwards, did not figure in the scoring.
Lee, Chambers and Berglund have little time to enjoy their historic victory -- Sioux Falls will play Friday in the Western Conference semifinals at Waterloo.

The other Western Conference semifinal has Des Moines facing off against Tri-City.
Another UML recruit, Matthew Brown, is one of the stars for Des Moines. He has three goals and an assist in two playoff wins after a 30-goal regular season. Brown, who led the USHL with seven shorthanded goals in the regular season, has one shorthanded tally in the playoffs.
                              -- BARRY SCANLON
The UNH crew is happy to be in house, re-writing UNH press releases. Otherwise someone other than our own C-H-C would be contacting recruits and writing a story, particularly a local kid like Cy Leblanc. It's not just the asking tough questions, its showing any sort of initiative.
                              The Souza record:
                              15-16 10th place
                              16-17 10th place
                              17-18 11th place
                              18-19 8th place
                              19-20 9th place
                              20-21 10th place
                              21-22 9th place
                              22-23 10th place

Correct - his pops sent me a pic of him signing Wednesday. I told him I wish he was coming next year.
