"Some 20,000 mostly out-of-towners will descend on the Target Center" to see the Trump rally. Because, of course, there are no bad people in the Twin Cities.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

Minneapolis is famously educated. If you're looking for Republicans you'll need to look out of town.

You need to get out more.

Half a million people in the Twin Cities metro area voted for Trump in 2016, and half of those were from the "ultra liberal" areas of Hennepin and Ramsey Counties.

What does that have to do with the estimated # of out-of-towners that will visit? We know the TC frightens and confuses your Dakoduh sensitivities, but try leave them out of the equation.

I just thought it was cute that Trump makes his umpteenth trip to the Twin Cities and will apparently speak in front of 20,000, and City Pages felt the need to try to explain it to the outside world by claiming it'll all be out-of-towners.

You need to breakdown those counties into their districts. Minneapolis and St. Paul proper had very low Trump voting rates while the counties as a whole contain a large number of affluent suburbs. Think about it - Hennepin County goes all the way out to Rogers. Until ten years ago or so, Rogers was considered a rural area.

I wasn't suggesting that Trump somehow carried or was even close to carrying Minneapolis/St. Paul. My original post had to do with the cute little claim by City Pages that somehow all these people filling Target Center were going to be from out of town. My only point was there are apparently at least a half million Trump supporters in Minneapolis/St. Paul and its suburbs, seemingly more than enough to fill the rally.

They also said exactly 20,000 people would be attending. HOW DO THEY KNOW?!?!?!

Iis it unthinkable that MOST of those attendees are from outside of Minneapolis? Sure, we all know that Minneapolis is more than just Minneapolis. But the article literally just says Minneapolis. Someone from not Minneapolis is an out-of-towner. I don't agree with it, but it's true.

No one’s expecting Donald Trump’s Thursday rally in Minneapolis to go seamlessly. Some 20,000 mostly out-of-towners will descend on the Target Center.
And let's be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if 10,001 people aren't from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

"Out-of-towners" is the new secret MSM code for "deplorables".

That's not what they said. Not every visitor will be inside the arena. K thanks.
