Sounds like the rocket did its job but the payload didn't perform as expected.

      Not so fast

That would indicate the presumed problem did not involve the Falcon 9. But the Wall Street Journal quoted unnamed sources Monday saying "the secret payload ... is believed to have plummeted back into the atmosphere ... because it didn't separate as planned from the upper stage of the rocket."

Reuters also reported the satellite "failed to separate from the second stage of the Falcon 9 rocket and is assumed to have broken up or plunged into the sea."

I wouldn't blame SpaceX if Northrop Grumman's payload failed to activate and separate properly.

I would blame SpaceX if it didn't hit the required elevation, or if something on SpaceX's end caused the payload to not activate.

It's going to come down to telemetry data of the rocket and any phone home signal the payload had. And given the secretiveness of the payload, we might never find out.

It's worth noting that normally Spacex supplies the adapter between the second stage and the payload. But, in this case, it was supplied by Northop Grumman. My money would be on Northrop Grumman being at fault.

I’m guessing it sounded like a big splash.

I thinks it's probably the FAA that they should get the lesson from.

Did you read the article? I don't think Col. Flaggy did either.

They're saying that despite everything you know about MS, that justices there decided that the 14th Amendment states that an individual parent cannot make a decision that could impact the rest of the children in a particular locality by way of not vaccinating a child and expecting him/her to attend public school. The article goes on to say that more states should follow MS's example, and require vaccination as a requirement of attending publicly financed schools.

Being fat, lazy, and stupid just happens to trump the very few other healthy decisions to have come from that state.

"One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its Black Gates are guarded by more than just Orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep, and the Great Eye is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust, the very air you breathe is a poisonous fume." Boromir

Yeah I read it, and I know what it said regarding the rationale. flaggy appears to have cited it for what was implied regarding the vax/disease nexus, which is not addressed.

Not having a strong opinion on the matter...as that would require more knowledge on the societal and disease mutation impacts of regularly immunizing tens millions of children.

Regardless that policy is very socialist of MS.
