OTOH I've been told that the rest of the Louvre is completely empty and you can take as much time as you want. I think the Mona Lisa is a trick to keep all the rubes in one place, like the Sistine Chapel and Times Square.

I've only been to D'Orsay. Dr. Mrs. and I saved the Louvre for the trip the next year. That was in 2002.

                  ...from mupa budapest:

                  Dear Mr Mookie,

It was 207 years ago today, on 22 May 1813, when Richard Wagner, one of the most important composers in the entire history of music, entered this world. To mark the occasion, we have some exciting news for you! Although the extraordinary situation we are all faced with today prevents us from holding any live events at all, there is no chance that we would allow fans of the brilliant German composer to go without the sublime music of the Budapest Wagner Days festival, an experience that we will be offering again this year, although this time online.

Between 18 and 27 June 2020, both die-hard Wagnerites and newcomers to the work of this extraordinary genius will get a chance to enjoy – or perhaps re-experience – some of the finest performances of his music seen in recent years: this time on our website, as well as on our Facebook page and our YouTube channel, and all free of charge. Along with a combined Der Ring des Nibelungen assembled from the best of our 2015 and 2016 series, you will also get to watch unforgettable performances of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Der fliegende Holländer and Tannhäuser.

The dates and times for the transmissions are now available on our website.

We hope that you will be able to join us in enjoying Wagner's incomparable music online!

I have a terrible admission. I detest the Mikado and I don't know why.

Edit: OH, NO, I DON'T! I detest Butterfly. I just mix them up all the time. Yes, this will be a treat! Thanks!

I just completed the Ring again. The first time was as a sort of intellectual mountain climb, this time was just for pleasure. It's really quite friendly once you get acculturated.
