If your sweat makes a sound, I'd be really, really worried.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Stealing dxmnkd316's bit (but only going-back 2½-years, so it's not that bad!), everything old seems new again. The discussion in the Business thread prompted me to hunt-down and resurrect this thread.

Looking at Gas Buddy, we are fortunate to have what seems to be the lowest price in NY here in the Southern Tier, on-average hovering around $1.99/ga, and I have seen as low as $1.89 on my drives into work. Scanning Gas Buddy info, I have observed some places in mid-West coming-in at under $1/gallon!

It would be interesting to see what the cost per gallon is now in comparison to the 70's (and other "key" points in time), adjusted for inflation.

Then, just to put it all into perspective, this thread was locked at 1,000 posts in 2015. Enjoy (?)

        Cheers!!!

Don't bet on gas going down by a lot even short term. The cost to refine is still about the same and is a pretty stable floor in gas prices. More interesting is what's going to happen to the gas station owners? A lot of these stations are franchises though it seems like an increasing share are owned by much larger companies. I'm not sure I've seen this discussed anywhere, but I can't imagine what's happening to the owners of these stores right now. At least the smaller chains.

In Maine 40 to 60 cent margins, gas sales while down 50% is the only thing good about the C Store business right now. Margins in gas are considered good at 12 to 15 cents here

I *had* to fill up on Fri, I was at 1/8th tank, and had some pickups to do, at $1.70. Today, it was $1.54.

                DAMMIT!

I hear down in Lakeville (about 40 minutes south of me) it's around a buck/gallon. Stupid rich(er) ZIP codes. And I'm not kidding. The gas station right by my place in Minnetonka is usually 10 cents or so more expensive that the station (same company) by my workplace, 7 minutes away in Plymouth.

We're at $1.33 about a mile down the road. There's another local under $1.40.

Drove from LA to FL a week and a half ago. Most places were in the $1.60-$1.70 range along I-10/I-75.

Currently high $1.50's here around me.

Illinois would like to have a word. $1.89 in the west suburbs, nothing less than $2 in the Chicago city limits that I've seen yet.

RaceBorder can chime in with the south suburbs.
