Three BU 2021 recruits--Boucher, Wilmer and Schmidt--selected for next year's U17s. Wilmer and Schmidt are ranked in the top 15 for the OHL priority draft, but are likely to be picked in later rounds due to commits to NTDP and BU.

Jack Hughes changed his birthday and is going back to dominate U-17's? And a Luke? Do you automatically make the team if you have the name Hughes?

BU recruit Danny Zhilkin taken 14th overall by Guelph Storm in the OHL Priority Draft. Can't see an OHL team wasting a first round pick on someone who won't play for them. My guess is he ain't going to BU now. No mention in his twitter of a BU commit just a Guelph Storm prospect.

Seems this recruit was the BU staff taking a flyer on the kid in case he decided to go the college route. Wasn't projected to get here until fall '22, so plenty of time to fill the spot.

Wilmer and Boucher were taken by Ottawa in later rounds. Both, along with Schmidt, are set to play for the NTDP U17s next season.

At the Tier 1, 16U Nationals, Wilmer is the top scorer after four games (11 pts.). 2022 recruit Devin Kaplan is the leading goal scorer with six (3 two-goal games).

BU has a new commitment, Selects Academy 15U right-shot center Ryan Greene. 6'0", 2003 birthdate. Played in the 2018 World Selects Invitational (5 points) and for Team Newfoundland in Canada's Winter Games (15 points in 7 games).

Could be a first- I remember Dave McLeod from PEI around 1960

Yeah, especially seeing that he plays for Selects, where I believe Josh Lawrence was playing when he committed.

Ethan Phillips, who arrives in Sept., also played 3 1/2 seasons for Selects before joining USHL Sioux Falls.

4 assists today for Zegras in Team USA's 6-0 win against defending U18 champ Finland, including this one to set up Hughes.
Draft Dynasty posted a 5-minute 2018-19 highlight reel for Zegras, who is ranked #6 among N. Americans by NHL Central Scouting.

Just prior to the new recruiting rules go into effect, BU has its first 2023 recruit.

In New England Hockey Journal, Cox also reported:
Fine, from Center Moriches, N.Y., plays for Mid-Fairfield. He spent the 2018-19 season on the bantam minor team, coached by former NHL star Marty St. Louis, whose son Lucas is also on the team.

Fine visited the Boston University campus Friday morning prior to taking part in the Eastern Exposure Hockey All-Star Weekend at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center.

Fine is certainly one of the top ‘05s in the United States and will be a candidate for the 2021-22 USA Hockey NTDP U-17 team.
Fine was the MVP of last summer's Crimson Combine.
USHR: Ryan Fine (Mid-Fairfield) -- "A skilled, smart, natural goal scorer who is unselfish and makes plays. Clever and a pure skater -- he just glides."
