Bemidji's offense put up 81 shots on the weekend and had a very high number of scoring chances each night. Friday's tie you can blame on the NMU goalie, and he's first star on Saturday as well. Beavers played well in all phases both nights. But they got robbed by a hot keeper.

My only consolation is that I gave my tickets away and went to scout a basketball game instead. Come on Beavers! Finish this series with a split.

My boy George and I were talking about you last night as we were watching the game. It's been a long time since Kearney.

I am heading out to the games this weekend. We will be staying at the Country Inn and Suites right by the rink.

Any suggestions on places to eat in Bemidji?

Depends on what you are looking for.

Burgers, there are several local options. Corner Bar is closest to the arena in the Nymore area of Bemidji just south of the arena. Slim's Bar is furthest from the arena on the north end of town. Bar 209 and Keg 'n Cork are both downtown. All of these do fill up on game nights, so you may want to get there early on game nights.

Pizza, the place to go is Dave's Pizza at the corner of 15th and Irvine. A little bit of a drive to the arena as it is a little north of downtown and the place fills up fast. I believe they open at 5:00, so on hockey nights, you may want to be there waiting to get in so you can get to the game on time. But it is worth it! Keith's Pizza is good as well and is close to the arena, but I prefer Dave's.

Otherwise, the town has a lot of chain and fast food options. Green Mill, Ground Round, Applebees, Buffalo Wild Wings, etc. If you want the local flavor, check out the ones above.

Enjoy the food and the trip!

Thanks for the suggestions. We are more interested in the local places. Will probably try the Dave's Pizza you recommended before one of the games, and one of the bars closer to the arena the other night.
