Re: Bowling Green at Michigan Tech

Ticket sales are very lackluster for this weekend, but Saturday is "Free kid's night" so I got standing room tickets for the little geezers. The 500 free pass kids will help fill the place up on Saturday anyway.
Huskies are very intelligent and trainable. Huskies make an excellent jogging companion, as long as it is not too hot. Grooming is minimal; bathing is normally unnecessary.

Sometimes the old-heads have to educate young fans and players about the rivalry (see UAH-BSU).

Winning the McNaughton Cup when Michigan Tech started sucking isn't exactly creating a rivalry.

I thought that the WCHA making BGSU and UAH "rivals" was supposed to create hate and discontent. Instead, we're just losing teeth.

GFM <— thinks that, right now, it would be awesome if it were UAH-BSU (a true rivalry) and MSU-BGSU (two current league powers)

                  Great game to watch tonight.
Pietila, Petan, Watson, Leibinger, Heinonen were great tonight.

Fun to see the win tonight.

BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got.

Probably the most impressive win of the year so far for the Huskies in my mind.

                        Well... some interesting reffing there...
MTU Hockey fan since I was carried to a game in 1986 - for those counting... that's a lot of depressing hockey. Still love it.

Wow. The final ~3 minutes were interesting. A split on the road against a top team is a pretty good result.

That goal gave BGSU a tie and a 2 point swing in the standings - which at the end of the season resulted in Tech having to go to Ohio instead of staying home to host the Falcons. And since BG swept that series to end the season for the Huskies, there's been a lot of pent-up anger that you'd think will be coming out this weekend.

Is that enough to win a game/series? I guess we'll know on Saturday, just before the Bridge closes
It looks like a trip/interference. Did BG's guy get the puck first? If no, does it matter?

Two good teams, hope they both keep it up for the NCAAs.

I'm very happy with the split. Would have been nice to sweep, but no shame in the Friday loss. Hopefully we both break our playoff-less streaks this season, too.
