I consider Dartmouth a mid-tier ECAC team and Harvard a low-tier ECAC team; so getting points this weekend is huge before we take on Quinnipiac, RPI, Brown, and Yale. Any updates on the injured players?

This is the same Dartmouth team that was ranked 8th in the Country last year before the January break and injuries and all those great freshmen are now sophomores and payed together this summer in Europe. Harvard is also loaded with talent with the return of all the players who missed last year and the best recruiting class in the ECAC and either team has what it takes to win the ECAC and the national championship and you can add to that Quinnipiac, RPI, Brown and Yale and also Cornell. St. Lawrence and Clarkson are fiercely competitive this year as well and if you don't pay attention, Colgate and Princeton will knock you off. Sorry, there are not going to be any easy points anywhere this year in the ECAC. If you want to win its going to require 60 minutes of sustained fierce intense combat, bloodletting and 110% continuous effort. I would not be surprised if the number of ties in league play goes up astronomically this year. In the end there will be very few points separating the top teams from the bottom teams. Don't see tiers this year, just one big free for all and outcomes will not be decided until the final weekend. Unfortunately this intense and balanced league play may mean that we end up with fewer teams making the NCAA playoffs as we continuously knock each other off all year.

You mention several subjective statements, don’t believe everything you read. The bottom line is Dartmouth and Harvard will have to prove they belong at the top of the ECAC conference.

Agree with this 100%. Not sure I've ever seen the ECAC this strong from top to bottom. The slightest flaws in a team can be exposed on any given weekend. Ask RPI what they think of Harvard after Tuesday's tie and don't overlook that Dartmouth will have plenty of motivation since Union ended their season last year. The big question with U is the injury update and who (if anyone) will be back and available this weekend. I think when (hopefully) everyone gets healthy this could be a very good team, but until then..

In recruit news, another forward for 2016 - Brett Supinski of the Millbrook School (NE Prep), had 44 points in 23 games last season.

I don't see a Qpac or any other team running away and hiding from the rest of the pack. It is going to be a dogfight, I just hope we have a healthier dog coming along. Our OOC record is a shambles at this point so I can see getting to season end and needing to win another Whitelaw to get into the tournament. So very premature at this point to even be thinking about it, but my mind wanders at times. . One weekend, one game at a time and this weekend is going to be a huge challenge as banged up as we are and as tough as these two teams traditionally play us. Hoping for two points.

2014 recruit Tyler Hynes, a Guilderland native and former Albany Academy player, is excelling in his second season with the USHL Omaha Lancers.

Hynes weighs in on his improvement this season, and also insight from Lancers head coach Brian Kauffman.

According to Schottskie, Colin Stevens will be in goal tonight v. Dartmouth. Also Michael Pontarelli will also play despite an apparent injury he suffered in practice this week (hadn't heard about that one). Apparently Gonye got nicked up a bit this week also. I wish we could be as tough on other teams as we seem to be against each other.

For the "no easy games" crowd a few posts up, did you watch the game tonight? You might be surprised at the outcome. Good effort by Union, but that was about as easy as they come. Let's not get caught up in all that useless sports hyperbole folks.
