    Well done sterlippo, less than 4 months till the season

    Good news on Hanifin:

    @CH_WillyPalov
    Patrick Roy on Noah Hanifin: "The chances he comes next year are very, very slim but our scouts thought he was the best player in the draft. Sometimes you have to gamble and that's what we did today. We're trying to host the Memorial Cup next year and that's his draft year so it could be a great fit for him and for us." Some scouts say Hanifin is the best US defenceman in 20 years, even better than Jones.

    Spoke to a friend of mine who played with Hanifin this week and he told him that he is "definitely going to BC" ...whatever that is worth.

    Excited for this season. GO EAGLES !

    A business acquaintance of mine who's a hockey dad/rink rat type from the Boston area was telling me today how good Colin White is. I knew he was pretty good, but he made it sound like he's one of the top players in his age group in North America. I realize he's still a few years out, but am a little surprised he's not getting more press around here if he's that good.

    QMJHL scouts had Hanafin rated as the top player in the draft and many think he's the top 97 D-man on the planet.

    Thoughts and prayers are with former UMass forward K.J. Tiefenwerth, who is undergoing an unexpected open heart surgery today.

    Just recently saw that he had transferred to Quinnipiac. https://www.westerncollegehockeyblog....ns-hockey-east

    Best wishes and prayers for successful surgery and a full and speedy recovery.

    If the Blackhawks win this series, Ben Smith will be the player with the least amount of games played for a team, to have his name on the Stanley Cup. One game in the regular season, one game in the Final. I believe Jiri Slegr currently holds the record.

    https://proicehockey.about.com/od/sta...ey_cup_nam.htm

    Not sure if this would allow Smith to have the Cup for a day or not.
